  1. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Dragon Sherman V in markings of 5th Guards Armoured Brigade, 2nd Battalion, Irish Guards, in 1944. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. I added OKB Grigorov T-62 tracks to replace Dragon's rubber bands and Eureka metal towing cable. The figure is from White Stork Miniatures, stowage (presumably) from Milicast, decals and antenna socket from Dan Taylor Modelworks. The model was painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics (H304), weathering with artist oils and pastel chalks. Thank you for your interest in this topic. Best greetings from Austria!
  2. Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is my 1/72 IBG Centaur Mk.IV built (almost) from the box. I added Dan Taylor Modelworks' antenna socket and figure from White Stork Miniatures. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. The model represents a vehicle of 1st Battery, Royal Marine Armored Support Regiment, in June 1944. The decals for the angle scales around the turret top were challenging, because there are lots of bolts that prevent smooth application. I ended up with some wrinkles, unfortunately! Thanks for your interest!
  3. Here's another 'stay at home' build, the small but very nice 1:72 Humber Scout Car. The fit of this tiny kit from Dan Taylor Modelworks is exemplary, however the instructions less so. The markings are from the 59th (Newfoundland) Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery, one of the units that cleared the entrance to the port of Antwerp in September-October 1944. These are one of the three options included in the kit. The interior was enhanced with several scratch build items, although even with the open hatches not much can be seen. The equipment comes from a Black Dog Resin set, with copper wire for the ropes to tie them to the vehicle. Weathering was done with 'mud' dust from Tamiya's weathering set 'A'. I hope you like it. Stay healthy! Peter
  4. Dear all, Please find below some images of my recently finished 1:72 Heller Sherman III (M4A2) of the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (3CLY) 'Sharpshooters' as it appeared during the Sicily landings in 1943. Although not indicated in the instructions, the Heller kit has all the parts to build an early M4A2, although for this build I also needed the sand shields and deep wading gear from Dan Taylor Modelworks. The wading trunks for the Sicily landings were a bit shorter than the ones used in Normandy, so I replaced the etched trunks with new ones from thin plastic sheet. The decals are also from Dan Taylor, as well as some stowage, and this was complemented with stuff from O3D and Black Dog. I hope you like it. Peter
  5. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Heller Sherman M4A2, built as a British Mk.III. Stowage from Milicast, figure, decals and photo-etch from Dan Taylor Modelworks. Painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics, pictures by Wolfgang Rabel. I'm primarily an aircraft builder, and not an expert on Sherman tanks. However I understand that "a Sherman is not a Sherman" and there's numerous differences between marks and operators. Studying my (limited) references and the Dan Taylor Modelworks decal instructions (27th Armoured Briagde Set 3, T-76007) I hope I got most details right. The brushguards and the antenna socket are photo-etch parts from Dan Taylor's selection. The antenna itself is a piece of stretched black sprue. Markings represent a mid-production vehicle of the Junior Regiment of C-Squadron, 27th Armoured Brigade in France, 1944. Thank you for your interest, all feedback and comments on possible errors is welcome! Greetings from Vienna Roman
  6. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Dan Taylor Modelworks Humber Mk.II Scout Car. I built from the box, adding resin figure from Attack, scratch-built side mirrors and antennas from Albion Alloys steel wire. On first impression, the Dan Taylor kit looks like an Eastern European short run product. When I started construction, I was surprised about the ease of assembly and good fit of parts! I painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics, weathering was done with artist oils and pastel chalks. Decals are out of the box (#M-72502) and were applied according to instructions, representing a vehicle of 59th Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery, 2nd Army, 1945. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. Best greetings from Vienna! Roman
  7. This is a result of perfectly constructed model kit from the Dan Taylor Modelwork. The kit, even it is in the small scale, is absolutely stunning and full of details. Totally worth it! The build was without any dead end or instruction misunderstanding, just a quick lovely build. This scheme is the Indepedent Czechoslowak Armoured Brigade which is in the box (Wow!) and the only extras are the mirrors and antenna ring (which is also from the Dan Taylor pe-sets). I hope you´ll like it! Cheers, Andrew S.
  8. 1/72 S-Model kit with Dan Taylor Modelworks detail & wheel sets, plus quite a bit of scratch-built detail: Build progress be viewed here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234996551-a13-cruiser-mkiii/?p=2260615
  9. Due to possible decal difficulties with my Crocodile build, I'm going to start in on another uniquely British vehicle, a Crusader AA tank of RHQ Squadron, Staffordshire Yeomanry.....Here's what I will be using for this build: S-Models 1/72 Crusader Mk.I/II Revell 1/72 Cromwell Mk.IV (Track Donor) Dan Taylor Modelworks Crusader Running Gear Dan Taylor Modelworks Crusader AA Conversion Set Dan Taylor Modelworks 27AB Decals It's quite a big pile for what will actually be a very small model when it's finished!
