After seeing some of the small scale armour builds on BM recently, most notably Stix's D-Day diorama and Bangor Lad's armour builds, I bought myself some Plastic Soldier Company Sherman/Firefly kits, (3 to a box, couldn't beat it). They go together really well, have a good bit of detail, and certainly look very nice once finished, (I think so anyway). I built this version of the PSC Firefly, added a bit of stowage from the spares box, got decals of Dan Taylor's Modelworks, which let me depict a 27th Armoured Brigade Firefly, sometime shortly after D-Day. I've also had the Revell box of WW2 British Army figures in the stash for a while,(they were sent to me by mistake) and thought I'd put them to good use in a display with the tank. "Get your bloomin' a**e back in line" And the snapshot in time: As is my usual M.O., Humbrol paints throughout for the tank and men. I also applied some washes to the tank, some black and some darker greens although they don't show up too well in the photos. I made the dirt/mud made from Revell earth paint, (the small pot from the B.O.B gift set) mixed with talc powder and left to dry for a minute or so,applied to the tank, and then used a stiff brush to take a lot of it off, hopefully it looks alright. I haven't used any varnish at this time as I'm worried about darkening the finish, I think it's close enough as it is. All in all, I very much enjoyed putting this scene together, something different to just making aircraft all the time. Thanks for your interest, Sean
