Afternoon all, First post in a while but I have been busy squirreling away on a few subjects. I've been deployed outside the country for a few months, so these were mainly built within the confides of what equipment I had available. Therefore, some parts are missing, aerials lost in transit or just simply didn't have the time to complete the finer detail. Up first is Italeri's (ESCI) Fokker 27, built entirely out of the box in Air UK. I had quite a few issues with seams on this bird, which I put down to either poor plastic or improper gluing of the join. The white also didn't lay as smoothly as I'd hoped, but never mind! Next up are two relics from the Falklands, both courtesy of Italeri. The Harrier steps are from Brengun and the flight tags are Airwaves. I am aware the tail rotors are the wrong way around and one side of the main rotor blades are upside down in the folded position, but these have a molded droop in them. The Wessex was bought second hand with part of the hump missing infront of the radome, so this is yet to be added. Finally is the Revell rebox of the CyberHobby Sea Vixen FAW.2 with Pavla resin Ejector seats and Aires resin wheels. I understand it's not the most accurate of models, but the engineering of the kit and option of the wing fold meant it went togeather with minimal fuss. Many thanks for looking. I'll see you on the next build..

Airbus A319 British Airways (Revell 1/144)
lomasca posted a topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Airbus A319 I completed a month ago. Not perfect, but getting better. I'm currently building the same kit again in a personalised livery (will post on here when done, if it succeeds) Goes together relatively easily. On my second time round i'll be paying more attention to the join lines on the engines. If you go for the CM56 option, i've noticed the starboard engine on both kits didn't fit together. The IVAE engines (pictured) seem to fit consistently. Chris- 14 replies

This is the 1/144 Zvezda Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner kit. In general the kit is easy and won't trouble even a beginner. Only exception the fan blades which are very fragile and require extra attention. Since the decals provided by zvezda are practically useless I decided to paint the model with the colours of Ethiopian Airlines by making my own decals. Specifically I tried to model the first aircraft of the type that was delivered to Ethiopian which is also the first aircraft of the type delivered in the Africa continent. The said aircraft is the ET-AOQ (Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner - cn 34745 / LN 49) which was delivered to Ethiopian on 17th August 2012. Shortly after the delivery, Ethiopian added some anniversary decals which don't exist on the rest of its 787 fleet. Those were the description of the type "Boeing 787" and the words "Africa First" which indicate the 1st aircraft of the type for Africa. The cabin and cockpit windows, doors and all stencils are from the excellent "Boeing Colours" decal sheet of DACO including the photo-etched pitots and AOA sensors which are included with the sheet. All the rest are designed and printed on decal paper by me at home using a cheap EPSON inkjet printer. Hope you enjoy it. George
