Hi all, I'll be chipping in with this little 'un, once I've got a couple of other builds off my desk. In addition to the Finnish markings shown, the kit also includes a set of Japanese markings (on an identical silver dope finish). I know little about the Japanese use of this aircraft, but the painting instructions state 1934 and I have previously read somewhere that the Japanese captured a Cirrus Moth in Manchuria. That's the limit of my knowledge... I bought this kit many years ago when you had to go resin, if you wanted a Cirrus Moth. I think I've made 3 or 4 Choroszy kits in the past (all pretty nice), and IIRC every one contained parts that did not appear on the instruction sheet and for which I never managed to find a home! I wonder whether this kit will uphold that tradition? Cheers

I bough the this several years ago as I wanted to build a bundle of interwar FAA aircraft. I always left it as I was worried it was more difficult than I was able to build. I don't know why as I've built some Magna kits and this is a much more refined resin kit than anything Magna have made. The Plover was built to the same spec as the Flycatcher and although the Plover had better performance it was not as robust as the Flycatcher which went onto to be the Fleet fighter. Three Plover prototypes and 10 production aircraft were built and they served in 403 and 404 Flights of the FAA for a year or so before being replaced by Flycatchers. It is a very attractive aircraft and this hopefully will be a nice build. I will take it slow and sure.

So further to a request for more Royal Navy subjects its only fitting to start at the beginning. This will be a build of the Holland 1, a 1/72 resin model by Choroszy Modelbud. Clean up on isle 7 i hear you say and you wouldnt be wrong, there is a lot of cleaning up and prep of parts, as youd expect with a limited run resin kit. The mouldings are not bad, most bits look as they should. The biggest challenge will be the hull halves, as on the top edge a whopping 4mm needs to be trimmed off on each half! This is to allow the deck casing to sit properly on the cast guides. So heres some picks to start with, some parts have had the excess trimmed off, as ive made a tentative start. All the best Chris

Sorry for the late arrival of this build thread. First resin kit (So remember Tricky, you got me into this !) Apparently this lot are part of the same kit, however the instructions leave much to your interpretation, a few clues would have been appreciated ! Comments, help, advice, counselling all greatfully accepted ! Cheers Pat
