  1. Hi everyone, I’d like to share with you my finished scenic base/vignette. It’s pretty basic but it was my first proper attempt at something like this. I made a WIP thread for anyone interested in the process. I understand we’re not allowed to share videos to YouTube here but I have the links to my channel in my signature for anyone who’s interested and would like to see it being created. Thanks for looking, Tom
  2. Hello everyone, I thought I’d share the slow but steady progress of my Centaur Mk IV diorama. I recently finished the Tamiya 1/35 Centaur Mk IV, a WIP thread can be found here for anyone interested. I’d always envisioned this tank on a railway crossing diorama, even before I’d begun construction of the tank. I’d searched around and the only 1/35 scale track I could find at the time was Trumpeters German Railway Track. The foam slab was bought from eBay and along with some other foam I had lying around I purchased some AK construction foam for the road/path. Composition is important and I wanted the railway crossing to be seen and represent 1/3rd of the diorama. The black foam is used simply to give the tank some elevation as a flat diorama would look boring in my opinion. I used the 6mm AK construction foam for the road which raises the tank a little bit more. Initially I carved in some brick work but it totally looked out of scale. So with that in mind I re sized some foam and carved out smaller bricks along with a kerb. I also rolled around a scrunched up tin foil ball to add texture to the bricks. Ive decided that the former road with the big bricks can act as a paint mule and if it looks ok, rather than waste it, use it as a base for the Honda RA272 that you can see in one of the pictures above. Thanks for looking and I’ll keep you all updated. Tom
  3. Hi everyone, I proudly present my finished Centaur Mk IV. You can find a WIP post here! I also made a build video with a bit more in depth information: Thanks for looking, Tom
  4. Hello everyone, I’d like to share my Centaur build. I chose this tank because of my Royal Marines connections and I intend to build a diorama to go with it. A lot of you probably know a lot of it’s history but for those that don’t, the RM Armoured Support Group took these ashore on D-Day and cut about Normandy before being pulled back two weeks later. But anyway onto the build: Ive had my eye on eBay for quite a while and when I was able to snatch this kit, I didn’t hesitate. The obligatory sprue photo… I can only find a few photos of the Centaurs but this is the image I’ll loosely be basing my model off. Work began on the back plate and the lower hull, the fit is perfect with no gaps and plenty of detail. I won’t be adding the rest part of the fenders as they’re not visible in the photos that I’ve seen. I’m not too fussed about ultimate accuracy but I think it would be nice to at least replicate the image at a glance. Well thanks for reading, this will be my project over Xmas and into the new year and I can’t wait to get cracking with it! Tom
  5. Let me present my first 1:35 scale armoured vehicle - the Centaur Mk IV by Tamiya. Brush painted with a “home brew” Tamiya acrylic mix of SCC 2 to represent “Hunter” from H Troop, 2nd Battery, 1st Armoured Support Regiment, Royal Marines Armoured Support Group, Normandy, June 1944. Weathered with various oil and acrylic washes. Thanks for looking.
