Hi, The other day I was wondering why in the recent past I have had so much trouble obtaining a 1/72 kit of the venerable Caribou (which also, coincidentally, happens to be my favourite transport aircraft). As far as I'm aware only Hobbycraft from Canada has ever brought one out to relatively modern standards, but it seemingly disappeared years ago. Any thoughts among fellow Caribou enthusiasts on what the chances are of this kit returning to shop's shelves? Also, does anyone know what happened to the molds for this model kit? Jay Pic by Bidgee

2017 wasn't quite as profilic as I had hoped, but putting out 3 kits this year is actually a huge lot more than I'm used to , so it isn't all that bad! First up was the good old Monogram 1/48 Harrier in the '70 Nato vs Warzaw pact GB: Next up was the good old Hobbycraft 1/72 DeHavilland Canada Caribou in the DeHavilland GB: and last up was the not so old, but still good Dragon 1/72 Mercury rocket in the Prototype and X-planes GB: Merry X-Mas to all from snowcovered Kolt in Denmark Hans J

I have started to work on the Caribou I just received form OzMods as per the review I posted on the main site. As I expected I needed to do some clean up of the leading and trailing edges of the wings and tail planes as well as the rudder, nothing bad though. I used some 400 grit then 2000 grit wet and dry to smooth the edges down and they are now good.The mold mark on the top of the fuselage was/is easily taken care of with some Humbrol putty, I have just added a second coat as I missed a few small marks with my first try. The rudder was trimmed to fit on the tail as were the tail planes and they are ready to fit once I finish sanding the putty I have used on the mold mark and the wing join. I will be doing the aircraft in the later camouflage scheme involving two greens and black areas..

Hi While I'm quiet busy in the NATO vs Warzawa Pact 1970'es GB at the moment I plan to build this in the GB: OOB in Boxart markings. Should be interesting to make a pure white plane! OK - until the 18'th of february. Cheers Hans J
