Hi, PZL 43 was a light bomber and recce airplane, it was an export version of PZL 23 Karas. The main differnce between them was in engine - while PZL 23 was driven by single row radial, nine cylinders Bristol Pegasus VII the PZL 43 was driven by double row, 14 cyliders Gnome Rhone GR 14 NO1 engine. To balance airplane fuselage had to be extended by about 30 cm. The rear part of canopy was extended and it came to a rounded at the end. There was no this model on market at all (about 10 years ago), so I made a conversion of PZL 23 model by Heller. The conversion was made of scratch based on a monography of this type which was issued in Poland. Some 40 of PZL 43 were bought by Bulgaria before outbreak of WWII, they were produced but not finished and they were delivered to Bulgaria later by Germans. It was used by Bulgarians during war. Five PZL 43 took part in defence of Poland in 1939. Below, on a foreground is PZL 43, in background Heller PZL 23 Karas (this model I made 40 years ago, when I was in secondary school ) - in these times there was opinion that Polish airplaned were painted dark green, now it is considered, that they were painted khaki or light brown-green)- 22 replies

Hi, I posted PZL 43 A in Bulgarian markings recently and it was found exotic, but what I am posting now is even more exotic, I belive. As far as I know there is no model of this plane in any scale... If someone knows differently - please tell me. My model is a totally hand-made sculpure - out of scratch. On one photo you may see drawings, which were published in book "Sojusznicy Luftwaffe" ("Luftwaffe aliants"), published by Books International. I scaled it to 1/72 and it was a basis of the work. The machine is a kind of countrpartner of Lysender designed and produced in Bulgaria during WW II. The name of this airplane is Kaproni - Bulgarski (Bulgarian Caproni) KB 11 Fazan (Pheasant). It was driven by Bristol Pegasus XX engine (produced under licence in Poland before WW II and delivered to Bulgaria by Germans, after capture of Poland). 24 such machines were produced only. However - it is described in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaproni_Bulgarski_KB-11_Fazan. Model presents airplane which was used to fight with partisants in Macedonia during 1943. Hi, To complete my short story (or show) on Bulgarian AF during WWII the third and the last (as yet) of mine collections made in markings of Bulgarian AF. This is Avia B 135 - a Czech build fighter, produced already under German occupation. At present there is a nice model of this machine by RS....However, I made it several years ago, so I made as scratch conversion of Kovozavody Prostejov Avia B-35. The differences are in u/c, rear part of canopy and fuselage (wider in B 135), stright leading edge of wing in B135 (eliptic in B 35) and some small details. Regrads Jerzy-Wojtek
