  1. After a few single engine fighters, I'm building my first two-engine, Airfix's Bristol Blenheim Mk IV in 1/72. I remember building a Blenheim as a kid and it went very badly, so this is a second chance! I began this some months ago and so far it's coming along nicely, I think. At first I wasn't so sure about the kit, but I've begun to appreciate it and I love this desert camo scheme and the Free French markings. First up was the cockpit; not especially detailed, but I liked it nonetheless. Here it is after painting (Tamiya cockpit green is what I'm using for the interior) with some panel liner applied liberally. Then some dry brushed silver, and my first go at some seat belts for the pilot. I didn't like those seat belts (which were made from wine bottle foil), and switched to ones from tape. Still not great, but I moved on. I created a "map" for the navigator/bomber desk--maybe a little much, but I had fun with it.
  2. I signed up for this GB with the idea of something Vichy, maybe a carrier. I looked through my stash, looked at Hannants for decals and found the fantastic Xtradecal set X72161 - Battle of Malta RAF. So, i start thinking and come up with the idea of building Malta based aircraft! Now, my stash consists of (WARNING! EXTREME UNDERSTATEMENT!) one or two Bristol aircraft, and with the Airfix Beaufort on the way i thought i may build a Beaufort, Blenheim and Beaufighter. So three Bristol's (No sniggering!) with a pair of Bristol's (Stop it!) each. After purchasing said decals and also Xtradecal set X72319 - Bristol Beaufort Collection as i aim to build one or two (WARNING! EXTREME UNDERSTATEMENT!) i had to raid the stash. So, one Beaufighter TF.10 and one Blenheim IV pulled from the stash: Xtradecal set X72161 has these two beauties on the sheet: Starting with my first pair of Bristol's (I can now see the level of humour in the room..) i shall be backdating the TF.10 to a Mk1C.
