I bit the bullet already by starting to fit those flaps on the Zvezda Hercules last few day's and i was pleasantly surprised that they fit! This topic is the follow up in being the kit actually build and following Tony in his wake of his C1.. I am going to build a Antarcticdevronsix VXE6 aircraft I am going to use the Max decalset for this and the Flightpath skiset which actually for the italeri C130. Already been fitting the skiset yesterday and with some minor work this can be used to a good result .. I already had been dryfitting the flaps and housing and now the housing is glued in place with and end plate in place. Next i had the flaps thinned dowm a bit to make them more flat on the underside and to give the inboard flaps their distictive shape as they have a small curve downwards. This curve is not to be found on the outboard flaps for as far i was able to see and it isat least not apparent when seen from the side.. Left the flap as it is original and the right is modified to look more realistic.. And both being done .. Also the wingroot trailing edge is not correctly done ! Zvezda rendition.. Left side modified and right is still the Zvezda... I suspect that doing that wingfairing as it is it also caused the inboard flaps being wrongley shaped . The lines of the underwing and upperwing are more correct in the Italeri. After my alterations it made sense and it sits were it should be wich wouldn't if i would use the zvezda lines as a guideline. It also reflects reality a bit more 😀 Anyway if you like to have a good photographic reference then the book of Duke Hawkins is a musthave with tons of pictures .. Cheers, Jan
