From the Hasegawa large package box. F-16 not included. I did not use the Phantom as it is the very early mold. No decal provided for the bird and nose of the F-105B (short nose). For the others, I used the decal as a template, (for the F-100, the Italeri set) made a photocopy of it and stuck it on a double face tape. Delicate cutting was required. Each star was set separately. T-33 F-105B Thunderchief F-100D Super Sabre T-38 Talon On the Talon, though, I used the tail logo and red flash. F-16A On the F-16, only the thin outlining blue stripe was used.

Hello fellow modellers, Finished finally my 'Blues' Scooter from the US Navy aerial demonstration team, the Blue Angels. I used the Hasegawa kit No. 07221. Paints: It was pretty difficult to find or mix the right Blues Blue color, therefore I mixed 50% Tamiya Blue X-4 and 50% Tamiya Royal Blue X-3. Gloss varnish layer from Humbrol Subtle panel line wash Midnight Blue from 502 Abteilung Aftermarket: A-4F Interior set from Eduard No. 49273 1/48 A-4E wheels early from Eduard No. 648213 1/48 Decals: A-4F Skyhawk Blue Angels 1974-86 Seasons from Yellowhammer Models No. YHD48-19 1/48 Masks: A-4E/F Eduard No. EX023 1/48 Enjoy the reveal pics! Cheers, Jos.

Hello I dont know if this is the right place but, For the Kinetic Model Kits 1/48 F/A-18A/B/C/D Blue Angels 2017 Hornet, Where can I get FS 15050 Blue Angels Blue and FS 13655 Blue Angels yellow paint? And if not what is the most equal paint to those colours that deliver to Guernsey? Thanks Liam

I bought this old Lindberg kit just for the engine and tailpipe to use in a future U-2 build. Wrong engine for the U-2 I know but as it won't show it doesn't matter. Just wanted the length and the tailpipe. The more I think about it, however, the more I think this kit can be built up into a pretty decent model. A surfeit of rivets to be sure but easily removed along with the panel lines. Not sure about the shape but it looks okay. Tommy Thomason has a couple of pages on his blog about the F11-F and a search on Bling images produces this airplane with some colourful paintwork. Something to think about. Dennis

Hi all, a late start for me, I'd like to enter this build. Many moons ago I assembled the fuselage and tailplanes, hope it is well under the 25% limit. Just the boxart from Scalemates for now, will follow with images of the box contents as soon as I find a good replacement for my old Photobucket account.. Best regards Fabio

Anyone know details of the flight suits and helmets -- in particular, the colours -- worn by the Blue Angels pilots during the time they were flying the Grumman F11F-1 (aka F-11A) Tiger? You can guess why I want to know. The kit in question doesn't have a pilot figure (a thousand curses on the manufacturer's hide for that lack!), so no help there, and on-line resources are ambiguous, mostly involving B&W photos of the crew, and most of those are in meet-the-public poses with forage caps rather than helmets. If anyone has official data, I'd very much like to know. I'm kind of hoping for blue flight suits with yellow helmets, but I've also seen yellow suits and blue helmets (not together), and that's just in recent years; Finagle only knows what they did back in the late 50s and 60s!

Here is my latest aerobatic kit, a Cougar Blue Angels. It was abandoned by a friend who gave it to me (half built). The kit is really sharp in the edges and with recesive panel. No coments about decals... they were destroyed at water contact.. so i had to use the Panther Blue angels Revell decals from my next proyect (now naked), and the "Blue Angels" from an old hasegawa kit (f-18 i think).. It was painted with modelmaster Blue angel Blue (1772), and Alclad II. Now my aerobatic collection rose to 10. Cheers! Orlando.
