  1. My first aircraft completion since April, the AZ Model Bf 109F competed out of the box as an aircraft captured by 1 Squadron SAAF in Libya, 1942. Intended as a quick build using what paints I had, so can only be considered a representation. Brush painted with Tamiya and Italeri acrylics, made grubby with oils and finished with a brushed on coat of Italeri acrylic flat clear. Build thread can be found here. Nice, easy, quick build - very relaxing way to ease into the vacation. Thanks for looking and Seasons Greetings to all!
  2. It’s been a long time since I have done an aircraft build thread, but with the start of the summer vacation, and making progress on some vehicles this last week I felt like getting back to aircraft. My local hobby shop has just had a big restock, and in amongst the new kits was this. The box top scheme really tickled my fancy, so I grabbed one. Looks reasonably straightforward: Plan is to do a straightforward quick build over the weekend before the Christmas shenanigans starts. I’m going to make due with the paints I have in stock, so
  3. Dear All, As part of my current thread regarding the wheel wells on the F2 and F4 variants I've discovered a bit of a puzzle which hopefully some Bf 109 experts out there can help clarify for me please. I received a highly informative and detailed reply to my thread on the wheel well shapes which confirmed that there was never an F-2/Trop version, and so presumably never an F-2z/Trop either, which I found surprising as all the written and on-line references I have refer to such a beast, albeit the Trop modification being carried out in the field. So can anyone confirm
  4. Dear All, I'm currently building two Bf 109F's in 72nd scale, the AZ F-4 and the Zvezda F-2, and wondering about the correct shape of the wheel wells. The AZ kit has the rounded style which I believe to be correct, and the Zvezda kit has the angular version seen on the Emil and Gustav so wondering if this is correct for an F-2? My understanding is that the original F-0 and early F-1's retained the angular shape of the Emil but thereafter all F versions had the rounded shape, however I have a pic of an F-4/R1 with the angular shaped wells ('Augsburg Eagle' b
  5. Here is one of several Sweet 1:144 Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 kits which I built back in 2008. It represents "<<--", of Stab/JG54, Luftwaffe, flown by Geschwaderkommodore Major Hannes Trautloft, from Relbitsy, Russia, in March 1942. The kit was painted and varnished by brush. Thank you for looking and all comments are welcome Miguel
  6. Bf 109F Essentials 1:48 Eduard Brassin - BigSIN In this set Eduard offer us the 109F cockpit, wheels, control surfaces and pitot tubes. Cockpit Set The set gives you a complete new cockpit including sides and floor which will fit into the model with some work being needed on the kit moulded details. A mix of resin and PE goes into this to create a small model in itself. There is the option of using a one part instrument panel, or a multi part one using the PE & film supplied. Though lets be honest if you are going to the time, trouble, and expe
  7. Hey guys, here is my latest work - the kit is very nice Eduard 1/48 Bf 109F-4. It was finished in a bit over a week - on very last minute i have decided to go and see the Moson kit show this year, as it was my dream for some time already. And because i did not want to go there with empty hands, i had to build something.. The kit is amazing, goes together realy well and all problems vere caused just by myself and the limited time i had. I have used the Profipack boxing, so i had some basic PE sheet and canopy masks from the box,on top of that i bought the Eduard Brassin f
