  1. One GB I've been really looking forward to, with a smidge of poetic license. On the August 15th 30 Bf 110's were shot down, they had been used for high altitude bomber escorts. However, were easy pickings for the RAF's fighters, when Herman Göring ordered the fighting to stay with the bombers. My plan is to build a diorama of the picture below, using the Tamiya Spitfire kit and Fujimi bf110 kit. The Bf 110 will be straight and level with the starboard engine on fire, with the pilot getting into a position to bail out. I'm using Montex masks for the can
  2. Heya, My first diorama of any sort and first multiple build. Gosh, this took me so long! My personal memorial to the 80th anniversary for the battle of Britain. Airfix 1:48 Hurricane Mk1 Tamiya 1:48 Spitfire Mk1 Airfix 1:72 109E-4 (+1:144 109 for a giggle and first in the scale ... what a fiddle). Idea was to have the 109 crashed below after a forced landing at a slightly smaller scale to create a forced perspective effect as the victorious pair of British fighters passed above. Definitely works from above and some angles,
  3. Hi All, Here's my attempt at Airfix' MkI Hurricane, modelled as V6799 of 501 (County of Gloucester) Sqn, RAF Kenley, October 1940, This aircraft was flown by P/O (later W/C) Ken McKenzie - on 7th October 1940 he was chasing a damaged Bf109 over the South Coast. Having expended his ammunition he used his wingtip to remove the port tailplane, causing the Bf109 to crash. In doing so the Hurricane's wingtip was also removed, causing McKenzie to force land near Folkestone. He rejoined his unit in quick order and went on to claim at least seven more victories before the end of the battle
  4. Hi, Just a quick question, I'm working on a spitfire maintenance diorama in 1940 and I wondered what type of fuel tanker(s) would of been used to fuel a spitfire at this time? Many thanks, PlasticSoldier
  5. Hello Everyone, This is my third build for Karen at work. This time I have gone for the "enemy" and provided the BF110, before anyone asks or notices, I am not allowed to put any swastikas on the aircraft. Complete crock I think but I can live with it. I used an Eduard Zoom set for the interior and mask for the canopy, both I will be using again, but not relying on them. Oh I also had an Eduard Brassin MG15, which I also like as well and I will be using the other one that I have. I'm not too sure on the colours, but this is what Vallejo suggest and I am aware of the cock up on the righ
  6. Hello one and all, A while ago I asked for ideas in the chat section for some models to display for the school I work for. The short story is that, Karen, the Librarian there holds a lunch for all of the veterans on/near Rememberance Day for our local lads (or lasses). This year I suggested that I would build her some models so she could show off to the kids and the veterans could talk about said models. I have finished 3 of them now, and here is the first. And finally a picture of her not baking in the sun. I think this is the first of the Ai
