  1. "To Remember The many" The Tamiya Lancaster 1/48 Welcome Dear Brit Modellers to my next endeavor into plastic. let me explain what is going on. A month or so ago I had a message in my inbox from @isaneng asking whether I would consider building either XV298 or PA474. He is a flight engineer who has in his own words "Crashed one and fly the other with pride" I have never been asked this before and as anyone who has ever followed any of my builds you must know that in actual fact I know very little about air craft and I'm learning while building. ( its fun that way ) As serial n
  2. "To Remember The many" The Tamiya Lancaster 1/48 RFI Good evening fellow Britmodellers, let me present my longest build to date, it’s been Seven long months and a lot of blood sweat and Tears to get this iconic bird over the finish line. If you followed the WIP you’ll be aware of the back story so I won’t re tread old ground. If you’re interested in the WIP you can find it here. I’ll keep this short and sweet and get on with the pictures. I hope you enjoy the shots. I wished I had a brighter day to take the
  3. A 1/144 scale picture/diorama built for a friend. The original Crown Lancaster and Minicraft Dakota. The Lanc and Dak at rest with BBMF crew, re-enactors and veterans looking around. Build thread here -
  4. Hi guys, I do not begin to think I can take pics as well as some on this site, but I thought I might show you a few from this evening's show at Southport. It was good to see the Lancaster back in the air, and the lighting was beautiful, so I apologise if there are more than a couple of the old Avro. All photos taken with a Sony bridge camera, so no fancy lenses for me! The most difficult aspect of the evening is that the sun goes down in the background, so one minute you are dealing with lens flare, the next, the plane moves and you are against a darker sky. The auto function struggle
  5. Hello all, This is the next project which should (!) Be an easy one.... For the BofB GB I did three hurricanes, these didn't get completed, which meant I also didn't even start the spitfire's! I had planned on building two from the Xtradecals 75th BofB sheet, so these are still going a had but in here.... Joining them will be a guest from the airfix bbmf that was given to me when I left my old job... what a kind bunch they are. So first up is the airfix mki spitfire boxing of DW-K This will be be oob apart from using the Xtradecals set below I wanted something a bit different so went

  7. PLEASE READ So, news has it that the 2 Lancasters and Vulcan will be flying together at RAF Waddington on Thursday and then parked on the runway (21/08/14) The AVRO aircraft will be there for some time, but it will be ideal to get there early. Here - Is the article http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafwaddington/newsweather/index.cfm?storyid=11B3DBF1-5056-A318-A802C5A20D39A135 I'm NOT going, but I don't know about anyone else but this was a short notice thing so sorry about the sloppy look of posts :3 PM Me if you want to know anything else http://www.globalaviationresource.com/v2/2014/08/19/avia
  8. Hi Some photos from Biggin Hill on Friday afternoon are below. It was great seeing the 2 Lancasters.
  9. Here are some pictures of my completed 1/72 scale Lancaster's. They have both been somewhat modified; the work in progress can be found here: '>1/72 Lancasters - Revell and Airfix - simultaneous builds Hope you like them, thanks for looking! Karl
  10. Hi Chaps, I fancied adding a Lancaster to my collection of builds, so I'm going to attempt to simultaneously build two; an Airfix B.III Special 'Dambusters' Lancaster as ED932 AJ@G and a Revell B.I I'm going to convert in to the BBMF Lancaster PA474 I'm going to try and modernise the Airfix fit a bit by adding some scratch built interior detail based on the Revell kit plus come corrections to the upkeep mine and other details appropriate for this aircraft. The Revell kit, whilst being more modern and better detailed also has some fairly well documented errors. I'll be trying to correct thes
  11. Hi Everyone, I just thought I would share some of my photos from today's visit to the Eastbourne Airshow. These photos were taken on a pocket digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix L25, so unfortunately the quality of the photos is not as good as if I was using a larger digital camera. I intend to purchase a better quality digital SLR with a variety of lenses etc, if anyone has any recommendations for me, please feel free to comment. Anyway, onto the photos. The photos of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Red Arrows are my favourites out of the photos I got. Battle Of Britain Memorial Fli
  12. Heres my build of the reissue of the old Airfix Chipmunk, very much an impulse buy this one, went into a little model shop i found and i felt rude not buying anything so i ended up with this. Although an old mold it is still a lovely little kit all round and does go together nicely, the only downside is that it is abit basic in the cockpit but you expect that from an old mold. Rather pleased with this one specially the stripes which i masked bar the tail stripe that i painted free hand. Tempted to get another so i can have both the BBMF Chipmunk :ha: Enjoy, Tom
