  1. This kit, finished last year has a long story on the shelf. The FV4004 was an 120mm guntank, to battle in the second line approching IS-3 tanks. Two were build? One is still in Bovington. With the Amusing Hobby FV4005, (2020) I thought at this time buy two, and make two ( FV4004) and FV4005), so I restarted on the FV4004, but only until 2024 there was the time and mojo to get things done. The AA kit is the turret and a few things like the gun cradle. Painting is a little too shiny , a try with oil and washes and so on, to show it a little abandoned... Tracks are friul. Base colour a little obscure oliv 1 My very last step in the paint job was to ruin the model, I accidentally swapped flat base with flat clear so I rebuild the front with AFV Club spare parts... and repaint it... Hope you like it
  2. Purchased in early 2021, started and then abandoned when 80 % complete at some point mid 2021. Finished in the last couple of weeks - one of those kits that fought me all the way. Lost bits, broken bits, issues with the paint. But here it is, for better or worse. And an imposing beast it is as well. When I was a little lad in the 1970s my parents’ married quarter was just behind the Base Vehicle Depot Ludgershall which had a Conqueror as its gate guardian. Brush painted with Tamiya acrylic, and left clean and shiny, just a little grey model wash and some dust on the running gear. Finished in one of the schemes in the box, which, while no details are given, is I believe markings for 1 RTR during the late 50’s/early 60’s based at Hohne. Here is the state of play a couple of weeks ago. And here is the finished item. And here it is with my recently completed Chieftain Mk 10, which looks rather svelte next to the Conqueror. Thanks for looking.
