I use Alclad gloss black base as my base for their chrome. Generally it works quite well for me. This time I got an interesting phenomenom I am unfamilair with. I sprayed pretty heavily and while the gloss came out, it did create a channel in some of the parts/panel lines (see photos attached): The obvious spots are in the vent areas (lower portion of part, red color). https://imgur.com/a/uTckMQm My question is whether I can spray a light coat over these parts (there are... many) to fill in those gaps and ensure full chrome coverage? Or do I spray the chrome and deal with the tiny gaps as is?

Hi there Here is my recently completed Thunderscreech. The shiny finish was done using Alcad Airframe Aluminium misted over a coat of Polished Aluminium. The stars and bars came from Fantasy Printshop and the rest of the decals from the kit. The wingtip pitot tubes came fra Albion Alloys slide fit tubing. Regards Toby

Hi there I have used Alclad for a few years but not the high shine types. Would you get the same shinyness spraying Polished Aluminium over dark ble gloss primer? Gloss black seems to the only undercoat used that I have heard about? I have a plan to build a model of Chuck Yeagers NF-104 that was very shiny but with variations in the panels. regards Toby

I use pipettes to transfer paint from the bottle to the airbrush or mixing cup. I've been getting a bit fed up with the number of them that have been littering the spraybooth. Yesterday I finally got around to drawing up and cutting a stand to hold them tidily and out of the way. I'm not sure if others have this issue or not, but if anybody would be interested in this stand please let me know and we can get it added to the product range. Cheers

Hi chaps. I'm familiar with alclad paints, and have used a few of them before. I'm currently building a gloster meteor and am going to finish it in high speed silver. I know the colour is open to debate, and to my surprise when searching, found alclad produce this colour paint in their excellent range which I wasn't aware of. I've purchased two bottles. Now I know some of the colours require a specific colour primer underneath them, so I thought I'd check their website. Now this is where my problems started. I can't get onto the alclad uk website.. http://www.alclad2-online.co.uk this is the site on the back of the bottle, which I've not come across before. This is the normal website I use, https://alclad2.com, but they don't list any of the new colours. Does anyone know if it requires a specific coloured primer under it? Thanks for looking. Matt
