Been a bit out of sorts recently, with the weather not being very helpful as far as painting goes (too hot) so my M36 build has stalled. It has been a public holiday weekend here in Western Australia, and I managed to snag the Airfix Ferret Mk 2 a few weeks ago - ideal for a quick build. Nothing fancy. Going to do it all sealed up in the colours of a BATUS range safety vehicle. Saturday afternoon Sunday night (wheels just blu-tacked on) and here is where i am at this evening. Fabulous fun, everything fitted really well. Just a few little bits of cleaning up, and it will be ready for paint.

Christmas gift from my lad. Just a placeholder for the time being as I gather information, as I know next to nothing about this AFV. My intent is to build it with the markings provided in the kit for a US Third Army vehicle in the winter of 1944/45. Already I can see that there are options provided - but not much to go on in the instructions.

Here I present my go at the Airfix K2/Y Ambulance. In a rush of blood to the head I decided to attempt the Caunter Scheme, which I replicated using Tamiya mixes for the Slate and Silver-grey, and Vallejo Model Air Portland Stone. The interior rear cabin was painted with Italeri Acryl Middle Stone, which I have since discovered is not period correct. Weathering was with various Vallejo Model Washes. As always brush painted. A reasonably straight forward build, however rather a lot of ejector pin marks and a few fit issues. Build log can be found here: One photo in black and white: And finally, it’s not a Carlsberg glass, but it’s close enough in shape, and my footy team had a very good win last night. Thanks for looking.

First completion for 2022! Picked this up just before the Christmas vacation. Ideal as a quick project. Completed out of the box as a tank of the Australian 1st Armoured Division based at Puckapunyal Camp in central Victoria, Australia in 1942. Brush painted with Tamiya Acrylics and finished with a variety of Army Painter washes and diluted Italeri Acryl Dark Earth to obtain a nice dusty appearance. Build thread can be found here. For those that are interested, Puckapunyal Camp is still an active Australian military installation: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puckapunyal Thanks for looking.
