About plane: The Po-2 (originally U-2) was designed as a training aircraft in 1928. During World War II, it was adapted for many tasks including flying ambulance. The model shown here is equipped with Bakshayev containers - each could hold one stretcher with a wounded person. About model: Model based on great ICM 72244 kit. Rigging from Uschi. Paints from Bilmodel. Decals self made.

About the aircraft: One of three L-60 Brigadiers flying in Poland in an air ambulance version. Painting based on conjecture - sister planes SP-FXA and SP-FXB most likely had all surfaces cream and dark blue. Here I decided on the red elements "above the cabin" based on analysis of black and white photos and a suggestion with a colour photograph from (as far as I remember "Skrzydlata Polska" from the 1950s. To this day I'm not sure whether the leading edges should be red or navy blue ? About the model: The base was a kit from AZ Model in 1/72 scale. I made the interior from scratch - another edition of the kit does include the SP-FXA paint job for the later paint version, but it too does not include the interior for the sanitary version. The model caused me quite a lot of difficulty in gluing - such "greenhouses" require a different approach to assembly and painting. In the end, however, I'm satisfied - I hope you'll like it too

Today I want to present last of my finished previously small helis - Mil Mi-2 from Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (Air Rescue Service). Mi-2 were for years "workhorses" in Poland. Nowadays all are retired and replaced by EC135. As usually with civilian versions a lot of scratch (especially inside) has to be done Sorry if I've added too many photos, but... I just like this model If anyone is interested in a report "WiP" is available on the Polish forum

Hi everyone, This kit was given to me by my brother in law for Christmas, it is going to be air ambulance as I have a soft spot for these choppers seeing that I am a Paramedic, Helimed have helped me out more than once on a bad job. So I'm quite keen to try and do a decent job of this kit.First update is going to be the usual box, instructions, decals and sprue shots:The box with a nice piece of artwork:IMG_1061 by Neal, on FlickrInstructions in the usual Revell layout and their normal pain in the backside paint call outs:IMG_1062 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1063 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1064 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1065 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1066 by Neal, on FlickrA small sheet of decals:IMG_1067 by Neal, on FlickrThe sprue, not much flash on this kit compared to my previous EC-135, nice level of detail too for a small scale:IMG_1068 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1069 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1070 by Neal, on FlickrIMG_1071 by Neal, on FlickrSo I've already made a start on the build but will wait a bit to an update as I really need to finish my "Planes on a pole" sig entry before getting carried away with new builds.Take it easy guys.Neal
