New in but a bit of a de Haviland fan so saw this Group Build and thought I'd go for it; hoping that no one will object to a Puss Moth putting in an appearance? Starting point is the AVI Models short run kit. Still got to dive into the references for a scheme; I want something that wouldn't look out of place on an RAF station in the 1930s (back when having a private plane parked in the hangers was nothing unusual for an RAF pilot) which rules out the kit decals. Hopefully won't be too tricky to find something suitable as I think the Puss Moth would have been a popular choice for the well heeled RAF pilot; especially in the Auxiliary Squadrons!

This was released late last year from AVI models in 1/72 scale. For a modern kit, the quality of casting is a bit disappointing, or at least my sample looked to have the molds slip. The instrument panel had no detail (nor was a decal provided). The pitot tube and exhaust were also scratch built as these details were not provided. The markings on this particular Claude are of IJN ace Tetsuzo Iwamoto during operations over China. regards, Jack
