  1. I finally finished another model! It’s the AMtech 1/48 Focke Wulf Ta 183 Hückebein. Apart from the shallow intake, this is a lovely kit and easy to build. Most recently it was re-released by Academy. I just love checkerboard markings but the nose on this model was really a pain because the decal shattered into multiple pieces as I was applying it. I persevered and it doesn’t look too bad after touching it up with paint.
  2. Hello all; I hope you have a great Christmas and are looking forward to the new year. There's a long story behind this build, literally a 12 year effort across two continents. The full story, as usual sits on my website. The short version is that this one started as a build for a friend; he wanted a super-detailed RAF Boston. I ran out of enthusiasm and interest long before it was finished and it became a shelf queen. For some reason I kept the carcass though, and eventually, after a move to Australia, I retrieved it from Canada on a return visit and finally finished it a couple of months ago. As usual, comments and critique are welcome. Thanks for looking. Mark.
  3. For my warm up entry i have ventured deep into the stash where little light reaches to pull out this state of the art (in 2002) limited release (5000) kit. I think it came into my ownership as a purchase at the first model show i attended at yovilton for little more than £ 3.50 , well this is written on the squashed box. I think Hasegawa have managed to get this version from their moulds so i hope someone here does one for the G/B so we can compare.. The box is past its best but looking at the contents they look passable ,just. I will be doing this machine from KG 66 based in France sometime in 1944. A paint scheme that will be a good chalang ,but at least it doesnt have any yellow on it. Will post pictures of the contents tomorrow. Cheers Alistair
  4. Although my dad is no whiffer, several years ago he built this kit of the Huckebein. Unluckily my dad glued in the wheel wells inverted but I could persuade him not to trash the model but to finish it wheels up. Found this 3-point stand somewhere in the internet and bought it to display the model. The pilot figure was stolen from a Tamiya MiG-15 model.
  5. Hi :-) My current project: the lovely Huckebein. Thank you for looking!
