Airbus A350-900 Lufthansa new livery 1:144 Revell (03881) In service since 2015, the A350 is the newest of the Airbus family of wide bodied long haul airliners. The fuselage is built from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic, making it lighter, stronger, and easier to maintain than traditional aluminium bodied aircraft. It is one of the modern ultra fuel efficient machines, with ranges from 8,000 nautical miles up to 9,700 nm depending upon version. Sectors over 20 hours have been introduced by Singapore Airlines flying to the west coast of America The first ti

I present the Revell A350 in the cheerful “Expo 2019” livery carried by Air China’s B-1083 to promote the International Horticultural Exhibition in Beijing. I know that opinion is divided about the A350’s looks but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and personally I like its odd, quirky appearance. The superb Revell kit really does it justice. The kit was a straightforward and enjoyable build. Apart from a BraZ satcom fairing and a few small details the model is OOB. I was particularly taken with the engines and undercarriage which are both masterpieces of miniature p

Revell A350-900 1/144 'Skyteam' Vietnam Airlines

Revell A350-900 1/144 'Skyteam' Vietnam Airlines On first impressions I thought this was quite an ugly aircraft but having seen it recently at Miami airport in Qatar airways colours I was quite surprised to see how elegant an aircraft it actually is. It's size is also quite deceiving especially in comparison to similar widebodies. Anyway I decided to buy the kit by Revell. It's a typical Revell kit, a lot cruder than zvezda with quite a lot of excess plastic clinging to numerous parts but nevertheless nicely detailed. One wing is warped which is nice so I've had to de -
Airbus A350 Thai Airways. 1:144 Revel kit with 26 Decals. I bought this kit when it first came out a few years ago, in the prototype scheme. I didn't much fancy doing that, so waited for some aftermarket producers to come out with some alternatives. Having a liking for all things Thai, I bought these decals from Two Six when they came out. I started the model a year ago, and more or less finished it by June of last year. It has been sitting on the workbench ever since, waiting for the aerials to be fitted. I'm having a bit of a purge of 'nearly fin

Let me just start with a warning : Now we've got that out of the way..... ....Ethiopian Airlines are due to take delivery of their first Airbus A350 next month but I couldn't wait that long. I finished off Revell's A350 with a mixture of F-dcal markings (FD144-684) and the kit's stencils : The standard 4x4 walkaround : Of course, the "with something else" pic just had to be with one of the A350's predecessors : I'm afraid I really struggled with this kit and it took far too long to complete. (Having said that, I managed to drag mine over the finish line before Trojan Th

Well, it's a new year, so why not a new WIP? I wasn't initially going to do this thread, so I've already made some progress. I started by painting the inside of the fuselage matt black and fitting the clear window parts. Following this the main and nose gear bays and the flightdeck were painted and installed. After joining the fuselage halves, I fitted the belly plate and the wings. The fit has been very good so far - only two small patches of filler have been needed.
