In my modelling year of 2023 I finished 17 models. It's ten less than in my most busy year (2020, 27 finished models) but ten more than in my slowest year (2022, 7 finished models). Best months were July and December with four finished kits, worst being January, May, October and November - with no kits been finished at all during those months. My scale of choice was 1:72 (14 out of 17). My models were 6 different nationalities - most popular nationality being USA (11 out of 17). There were no clear favourites between different model manufacturers - Hasegawa, Academy, Hobby Boss, Trumpeter, Italeri and Revell I did two of each and the rest one model each (Meng, KP, Roden, Arma Hobby, Special Hobby). I had no clear goal this year, except my modelling challenge 2023 (https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235126369-reinis-2023-modelling-challenge-412-roden-o-1-finished/ ) of which I finished 6 out of 12 kits. I also wanted to boost up my collection of finished Vietnam-era kits. Here they are, in the order they were finished: Meng 1/72 F-106 Delta Dart Revell 1/72 A-1E Skyraider Hobby Boss 1/72 F-14A Tomcat Academy 1/72 PBY-5A Catalina Hasegawa 1/72 J35S Draken Academy 1/72 OV-10A Bronco Revell 1/720 Graf Zeppelin Trumpeter 1/72 Gannet AS Mk.1 KP 1/48 SIAI SF-260W Roden 1/48 O-1 Bird Dog Trumpeter 1/72 F-105G 'Wild Weasel' Italeri 1/72 M48 Patton Hobby Boss 1/72 U-2A Italeri 1/72 A-7E Corsair II Arma Hobby 1/72 Hurricane Mk.IIc Trop Hasegawa 1/72 F-104C Starfighter Special Hobby 1/72 Ki-43 Oscar

Well, like so many here, I returned to the hobby during 2021 after many years away and set about revisiting past skills, which to be honest didn't take that long as there weren't that many, and learning some new ones .... which is now an ongoing process 😏 Apart from completing what has to be the longest build of a 1/24th Hurricane ever, I set myself the challenge of completing a full interior kit. I felt satisfaction at completing it, but often though what a stupid idea it was when there seemed to be no progress, despite hours at the operating table. Anyway, here's the sum total of my somewhat stop/start production line ....... First up, the resin fire-fighter figure purchased some time in the distant past and left for over 20 years .... Then came 'Project Hurricane' .... aka 'The longest build' The Italeri Landrover came next .... This was followed by the infamous 'Dirty Sherman' .... when I got carried away with damage and weathering Then I moved onto AFV Clubs Scimitar FV107 ..... much better! And finally, Ryefields M4A3E8 Sherman with the full interior ... 'The challenge' Build log is here ..... And for my next trick ...... Thanks for dropping by and, as always, comments welcome! May you all enjoy a great festive period and here's to the next year of chucking plastic together! Keith 😁
