Unless I get flagged down by the Mods I think I've a last minute entry here in the shape of a Piper Cherokee. I picked this bag up yesterday evening at the club... I'm looking at Minicraft and an Academy Minicraft instructions for 3 of them and Scalemates.com has the kit's history going back to 1973 and a new tool by Bandai. 3 sheets of instructions, 3 sets of wings and plenty of tiny bits, several off sprue, but only 1 fuselage in unmolested condition. A 2nd fuselage has been chopped around for some reason, I have no idea what the intention was, and I think I can pull it together. The 3rd one, alas, seems to have been sacrificed for fuselage panels for the "modification" project which was obviously abandoned some time ago. This is what I've got... At the top is the vertical fin which has been removed from the fuselage halves and glued together, plus another tail section. With a bit of determination I think i can get 2 Cherokees. I'm gonna start with this wreckage and see what I get, and there's always the decent one to fall back on. It'll at least be a useful reference for what this lot should look like 👍 Minicraft kit no. 11610 Academy kit no. 1610 Original issue...1973 Bandai Let's go, Marines...!

Following on from the excellent "Nostalgia" thread, does anyone else wonder how the changeover to blister packs happened , I.e. in the shops themselves. As I recall one week there were bags and the next week a shiny new carousel, no baggies in sight! Where did they go? Did Airfix recall them all and rebox? I don't recall seeing baggies and blisters side by side anywhere. I actually liked the blisters as they caught the loose parts and less breakage. Though we soon spotted some kits had moved up to Series 2, the robbers! Cheers Will
