  1. I predict I will be wrapping up the Seahawk either today or tomorrow so I should get this one out of the hanger and onto the tarmac. I think this might be the second Hunter of the GB, and I will kill two birds with one stone by using it to chip away at my Personal Build of 19 Sq. aircraft as well. To clarify things...I have no connection to 19 Sq. at all. It all started when I built the BAe Hawk way back during a GB and used the commemorative livery. It just snowballed. It's fun. Anyway...Xtradecal has a superb set of decals I have been dipping into when necessary although plenty of kits have 19 Sq. represented already. Anyway...19 Sq. flew the the Hunter F Mk.6 from October '56 to February '63. This one is from '58. Here's the kit... And here's the profile... More anon...must clear the bench a bit first! --John
  2. Here's my first offering, and I apologize for the late start. I had business elsewhere on the continent in the post 2 weeks and have only just returned this morning. And the profile...This will be an NMF aircraft. I'll start in tonight, I hope. --John
  3. I have had this kit for as long as I remember and every once in a while I pull it out and attempt an entry here on BM and it gets shot down. This time I think I'm alright! This time I will actually build this little jet. This is the profile. It says 1962. It was built before then, obviously. I'll get into this soon, I hope tonight! --John
  4. OK. I went though the threads and I figured I will build the Sea Vixen, having never built one before. A Sea Venom, yes, but not this. I also have a Sea Tempest, SeaFire, Phantom, etc...But this one caught my eye. I actually have the Revell reboxing too, but I like the options of building one of the birds off of the Hermes and, well, @Enzo the Magnificent is building the Revell kit...anyway...This kit does give me an option for the Hermes, two for the Eagle and three from Yeovilton. I'll take the Hermes. Sprue in bags... A lot of options... The profile (For now. I might change my mind.) Now that I have a clean bench, I will take a day to gather my thoughts. --John
  5. I'm slowly getting back to some kind of normalcy after several months of stress, outside pressures, etc...I have had to abandon some (but not all) of my GB commitments, and I would like to re-enter with this one... The Xtradecal set is really nice with several interesting options. As we have very few S. American entries, I'll throw my hat into the ring. I like the camo. Not your usual NMF, for sure. I'll get into it tonight, I hope. --John
  6. This looks like a sweet little kit. Let's hope the detail I have seen matches up with an affinity for fitting together well. I will be building the DH-112 Venom from F.1 Swedish Air Force, Vasteras, 1959. Straight OOB with this one. The plastic looks lovely, the glass looks nice and the decals look very well printed. I'll start in this afternoon by following the directions. From what I have gleaned from the InterWeb, this aircraft was replaced by the SAAB Draken. I have one of those in the stash as well. 😉 Here are some pics for the curious. Anyone build this kit? Any pitfalls to avoid? Some pretty artwork...Zoom! Nice looking sprue... And a profile... --John
  7. As I am finishing up the two Spifires in another thread, I feel it is only right that I try my best to rectify my earlier attempt at this aircraft. Thank the gods that there is a better kit and the Special Hobby Flora looks very promising indeed. Nice looking plastic, clean and well registered decals, some resin bits and instructions that match what's inside the box! I'll be building the Bulgarian Army Air force from the '1950s'...it's all rather mysterious, I guess! Lovely decals. The Bulgarian is Yellow 23, overpainted the Red 33...The Bulgarian stars will look good on the Warsaw Pact shelf...nice stencils too! Plastic bits... I'll get into this tomorrow evening...😊
