Hello, Some advice please. Currently building 4 of the Airfix 1/72 Spitfire series and I am having problems getting the Red Square gun port decals to bend across the front of the wing, any suggestions or ideas welcome, I am using Decal fix but seems the decals are too stiff. Steve

Hi All--I've been lurking far, far too long on this board, and thought I'd finally join up. Looks like I'm in good company judging from the steady flow of recruits! I've been building models since I was five years old; my first disaster...er...project was the 1/100 (?) Monogram F-101. I've settled on the Gentleman's Scale for my projects, mostly Cold War and post-Cold War (and occasionally WWII) aircraft, and have a love for multi-engine heavies. I appreciate British designs for their eccentricity, to put it diplomatically. As an ardent follower of this British interest board, a niche within an already niche hobby, I wanted you all to know how much various among you (whom I won't embarrass by calling out) have inspired me over the years. Looking forward to showing off some of my efforts and giving credit to those who continue to inspire and give energy to my own efforts! Best, Alex T.

Mt first post on Britmodeller, but I'm quite proud of this one and it's a bit of a step up for me! A nice fitting kit, with raised panel lines and not exactly bursting with detail, so it's been rescribed, and then I've had a first try with a rivetting tool (the Rivet-R mini, highly recommended!). 2nd build of what's turned out to be a bit of a Soviet Springtime - Italeri's little Lavochkin La-5N... a basic kit to be honest, but given a good old rescribing, a go with the riveter, some 'blister pill-pack' wheel wells to cover the gaping holes in the underside, and some bare metal foil coverings and details added... cheers!
