Hello everybody … I plan on adding this build to my roster since I’m concentrating on 1950’s era jets. I will be building the old 1/72 Hasegawa F9F Cougar as a VF-73 “Jester’s” Bird from their 1954 cruise aboard the USS Midway. Hopefully when Im done it will look like this ? https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:F9F-6_VF-73_USS_Midway_1954.jpg#mw-jump-to-license The unit had two different patches or variants of artwork to represent them. I believe the transition was from props to jets but this is only my guess ? This patch ⬇️ I believe to be the Jet era. I have decals of these ⬆️ custom made so will use them. And this patch I believe to be prop era. Here are the obligatory sprue photo’s. Please feel free to ask questions or add comments. If anyone has any history of the patch/artwork story or photo’s of the VF-73 Cougar’s please by all means chime in. Maybe @Tailspin Turtle may have some info ? Dennis

Hello everyone … Ive never been happy with the original F-20 schemes. So Im presenting this 1/72 Hasegawa F-20 as a WHIF build from the F-5 STGB. Ive done it as a USAF F-20 in the markings of the YF-5A prototype to celebrate 50+ years of the airframe in service. The wikipedia link is the actual YF-5A the scheme is based on. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Northrop_YF-5A.jpg#mw-jump-to-license Please feel free to visit the build thread. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235112465-f-20c-edwards-afb-2009-50th-anniversary-of-the-airframe-history/ That or possibly my second F-20 build. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235114567-f-20n-usn-century-of-naval-aviation-2011/ That will be in USN markings to honor a century of naval aviation. Please also feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis

Hello everyone … This will be my entry for the build. Its Hasegawas F-20 which only comes with the company demonstrator scheme. Sadly I’m not a huge fan so this will be built in a WHIF scheme. The parts image is taken from google and will be replaced once I can open my box and photo it. My back story for the WHIF, the F-20 was a success in that it was taken up by various nations to replace the older F-5’s and in some countries to modernize their Air forces. The F-20 was also purchased by the USAF & USN in the late 1980’s to replace the F-5 aggressor’s. The USAF would also use it as a prototype chase plane. My particular plane is one of these. It is an F-20C based at Edward’s AFB in 2009 and for the airframes 50th anniversary is painted in this scheme. Which was worn at Edwards 50 years earlier on F-5A prototype scheme. Yes I will be doing Day-glo on this bare metal frame. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Northrop_YF-5A_(SN_59-4987,_first_prototype_aircraft)_060905-F-1234S-001.jpg Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis PS - I do have a second F-20 which may also get built pending available time.

Hello everyone … Well I finally am getting back to building, I am almost done rebuilding my office, just need to finish some minor things. This will be my build for this group build the 1/72 Hasegawa EA-18G Growler. Im pretty sure it will be a VAQ-132 Scorpions build. Though have extra decals for VAQ-129 Vikings and VAQ-135 Black Ravens. Here are the obligatory sprue shots. Not exactly sure if I will use the A/M vents ⬆️ but they're there just in case. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or thoughts. Dennis PS- In case anyone was curious. Oops forgot to wipe the dust. ⬆️ with a quick shot of the stash and future display space.

Hi All, With many thanks to our gracious hosts, I am joining this GB with this kit Kit Instructions Sprue Shots - Not a lot of parts to the kit - few items painted previously, ( I started this eons ago, but never got any further (that's life sometimes)) Fuselage shot, quite a big model - similar in proportion to the Airfix Sunderland Rest of Sprues Clear Parts Decals - I will be doing an aircraft from VP 40 - The decal sheet looks like it's seen better days, so hopefully no issues with them As usual, I always (where possible) like to build my models to have a Kiwi Connection 🇳🇿, and I can say VP 40 certainly has a Kiwi connection, and especially with the mighty Marlin - Stay tuned Thanks for looking in, see you at the Kick off tomorrow Regards Alan

Hello everyone... I will be building the Hasegawa Mirage F.1C in the markings of the South African Air Force circa late 1970’s. This will be my first mirage since 1987, I built the Monogram Mirage 2000 in 1/48 then. The markings I have currently, But these decals from MAVDecals are on there way from South Africa. It all remains to be seen which I will use. Here with the sprue shots. Spare decals. I had considered and still am to some degree a Libyan version. The national markings are pretty simple with solid green roundels and flag on tail. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis

Hello everyone... This is my attempt to right a wrong. A few years ago a mentor of mine gave me about 30 models, one of which was the 1/48 Hasegawa Kahu Scooter. I unfortunately didn't realize the treasure I had in my possession at the time and built it as a USMC early “E” scooter. So in penance I will attempt to turn Hasegawa’s 1/72 E/F into a K type scooter. I will be using these decals from old model decals out of New Zealand which look quite good. These are the kit decals and if everything goes pear shaped on the mod’s, I will fall back and do the VMAT-102 markings( big red bird and red tail). The obligatory sprue shots. If all goes smoothly I may try to add a second scooter build after this one is done. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis Thanks Craig @modelling minion I will keep this here for quick reference. https://skyhawk.org/

Hello One and all... This is my 2nd Hurricane IIc build. It represents Lt. Stewart “Bomb” Finney’s 1 Squadron SAAF plane. It is coded AX*Z HL885 with the Dual nose art of the Springbok on either side, and “Oops” on the port rudder. Thanks to @rob85 for coming through with the decals. I have no WIP for either build as these were fill in builds during other projects. Questions, comments, and or thoughts ? Dennis
