  1. Hello everyone … seems like I’m trying to make up for lost time lately. I picked up one possibly two builds to keep my momentum up. Both in 1/48 and both Spitfires. The 1st is a Special Hobby Mk. XII that I started in my multi Spitfire build up in WIP. It will be a 595 Squadron bird. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235108243-my-multi-spitfire-build/ The second is an Academy Mk.XIV high back that was a gift from my mentor. It was started approximately 15-20 years ago. I will add photo’s as soon as I can get to my office tomorrow. Dennis Mk.XII: Mk.XIVc: Not sure which markings for the Mk.XIV yet but Im angling for SEAC.
  2. Hello Dears !! Here I am again.... The more I learn about the operation Firedog, the more I'm interested !! Well, here's my almost first kit for this serie.... I say almost since it seem that Spitfire PR XIX to have been used there too.... N° 33 Sqdn in Kuala Lumpur in 1949 The planes received an Aluminium paint over but given the climate and the pace of the operations. I must one more time thank my friend Tony O'T for sharing its impressive knowledge in British aviation.... You're sorely missed Tony !! As usual, I used Alclad paints... The kit is a good one, but the building has been marred with broken or lost parts, mainly by my faults... I still have to improve the way I represent chipping and peeling... But the original paint is still visible.... And now Gents..... He who sow the wind will reap a Tempest.... Or 2.... Family pics ?? Up to you gents, Comments are welcome, bantering is mandatory.... I want to thank you all for the support !! Stay safe and enjoy modelling !! Sincerely. CC
  3. These two kits were built together, the Siebel Si204 using aftermarket i.e. Eduard 'Big Ed' etched and masks plus CMK resin wheels, seats and spinners. Where as the Bucker Bu181 was built virtually otb, both kits were Special Hobby 1/48 scale. The Si204 wasn't the easiest of kits to build, some of the parts not fitting together too well. The canopies were a bit of a trial to get a decent fit but was successful in the end. I also re-scribed all the panel lines as I found the kit ones to be rather shallow. On the plus side the interior detail was excellent, unfortunately mostly lost when fuselage halves are joined! Not a shake and bake kit but worth the effort put into it, Special Hobby certainly give us replicas of aircraft mostly ignored by other manufacturers and are to be congratulated for their choices. Aircraft was finished using AK True Colours, decals from kit and spares box. This particular machine was taken from a colour photo found on the 'net' the code only showed 3 letters L,Q & D so first letter is a guess B!!! These last 3 photos show the interior detail :- The Bucker Bu181 was built otb without any modification except cutting out and deflecting the control surfaces. Again a Special Hobby kit this one with no surprises and finished quite rapidly for me!!!! Machine is finished as per photo found in a Flugzeug Special on the Bu181, it appears the codes had been painted out except the one on the yellow bands the S is speculative. Unit badge is home made decal, finished again, with AK True Colours. Now S.H. where is the 1/48 Focke Wulf Fw58 😉 Cheers Andy
  4. Right... as we are under starters orders I thought I should commit to my subject.... and the winner is....
  5. As I promised last afternoon, here another plane based in Palermo Boccadifalco (Boccadifalco: " Mouth hawk"), after Husky Operation in July 1943 This is a Spitfire Mk.VC 4nd FS 52nd FG flown by Major Robert Levine The azure blue is self made with all colors A nice day to all Ettore
