Hobby Boss 1/48 YF-23 Black Widow II Something to maintain my sanity between Big Builds. Hobby Boss' 1/48 YF-23 Black Widow II. Done up in AV article 1. Pretty much OOB with the exception of CaracalModels decal set and some wire for the brake lines. I used Rustoleum Dark charcoal Satin for the overall colour, Tamiya, Model Master, and AK interactive Metallics for everything else. And a shot with its competitor., A YF-22 Raptor Thanks for stopping by and having a look. All comments, suggestions, and critiques re always welcome.

Hello Dears, Every year, its Corsair, but there should be 2 Corsair in 2019 !! Sem Fi because it's a US Marines Corsair ! Let's go to Saipan in the summer of '44 VMF(N) 532 came in the combat zone aboard CVE 92 Windham Bay The F4U-2 is the Night fighter version of the Corsair, but it's not a production aircraft ! She were F4U-1 field modified with an AIA radar on the starboard wing and a radar scope generally installed in the lower center of the dashboard. So, they were refurbished Corsairs, the radar needed a lot of energy, and so a bigger generator has been installed too Hence the additional air intake on the starboard side, my working basis for this kit was the Hobby Boss F4U-1 Late version ! There was a lot of tiny detail to change but it was a decent kit. Midnite Cocktail has been flown by both 1LT Charles Canif, 1LT Bruce Reuter and Capt Howard Bollman The Capt Bollman shoot down a "Betty" on April '44 As usual, I can't wait to share it with you, I'll try to have better daylight pics tomorrow ! To compensate the weight of the radar antenna, one of the .50 has been removed from the starboard wing. HB give us 2 landing lights on the leading edge, but it's not right on early Corsairs There's just one gun camera ! So, I added it under the port wing ! And now, let's go for some family pics !!

Hello Dears !! 🎶 Working foh the yankee dallahhh !! 🎶 And now the last lyrics of this hit of the year…. 🎶 I finished a Corsair this year !! 🎶 Well for the one who can Wonder about the title.. I'm assembling a huge load of docs about the "World famous Jolly Rogers Squadron" And I will reproduce at least one kit of each aircraft used by the Jolly Rogers ! So at this time the squadron was numbered VF-5B On the 24th of January 1947 (Hence the red bars on the national insignia) The CVG 5 (Hence the C letter on the tail) left Norfolk aboard the CV 45 USS Valley Forge The cruise lasted 4 months of exercise around Cuba, Guantanamo and the Panama canal area ! One must know that at the time Cuba was a "De rigueur" holydays destination for lots of americans !! Now you know about Rum…. Let down the coca cola, I no longer drink that stuff !! The kit is the Hobby Boss one, early version, and I must say that it's a dog of a kit !! Sorry HB... It has been thoroughly modified Huh corrected !! But I'm glad of the resulting job ! The interior has received some improvements too, using the DS book ! Seatbelts are the HGW ones !! Magnificent ones but assembling it is…. How can I saaaayyyyy…. As usual, I come back soon before my desktop or connection failed... Caught once, not two !!

My first build for 2016. Got inspired by the weathered birds from Operation Serval in Mali . 1/48 Hobby Boss Rafale B. Built the kit OOB. Used Tamiya acrylics for painting and oils for weathering. The cockpit canopy fit was surprisingly bad for a Hobby Boss kit. But other than that it was a straight forward build. Now lets look at the pictures. And finally pictures of Stable Mates Let me know how you like it Regards Vivek

Hi All, Following my recent Trumpeter MiG-15UTI, here is Hobby Boss's 1/48 MiG-17F. The paint is Mr Color silver and I had some trouble getting a nice smooth finish! The full story can be read at www.jonbryon.com/MiG17F.html. Kit decals were used. Additions included Ciro resin wheels, Quickboost resin ventral fin, and Master turned brass pitots and gun barrels. Overall it was a nice build. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome. Jon
