Finally some progress on the huge King Tiger! I started this almost a year ago! But found I was getting too short on time, with commission builds:-( I've restarted it now and i'm going to see though to completion ....somehow. This KT is going to be based on Abt 503 or possibly 101 from France 1944. This will have a Zimmerit finish. Some progress pics below: The hatch mechanisms, although quite a delicate fidel, work quite well when finished. The build quality and fit on this model are very good considering the size of the molds. The 88mm L71: Dry fit to turret base

This kit I bought to practice painting faces on several years ago and it sat in my cabinet, headless for about 2 years. I finally decided I should take a crack at finishing it off so here's the result. I'm happy I managed to line the eyes up and it looks ok from 3ft away. My first attempts at a face looked like Marge Simpson after Homer had done her make up with the make up shot gun (for women with only 4/5ths of a second to get ready). It was brush painted with Vallejo and the base is an old trophy with some dirt from the back yard and grass tufts from MiniNatur.

Well, better late than never! Here is my GB entry. After much stash searching, procrastination, rethinks, and other excuses i have settled on this for my subject. Admittedly i am not a regular figure builder, and this is outside the comfort zone, but hey, its something different (for me). Heres the pics... As you can see he's quite a grumpy looking chap. I hope he doesn't make me grumpy in the process!! Thanks for watching, cheers Greg

Good afternoon all! I an in Seattle Washington, USA. I like the 1/16 because it is large enough to detail without a microscope, yet small enough so that you do not need to build an addition to your house to display it. Those Tiger IIs are truly impressive. I have bought one of the Trumpeter 1/16 Pz IV H models and intend to build it doing as much detailing as is possible. After the Pz IV H I would like to build the tiger and if there is a Pz III N that would be sweet! I am primarily Tiger I and Pz III fan and have an extensive collection of books, DVDs, etc. on these subjects. Now I need the get myself some Pz IV references so that I might start my build. Panzer Tracts has not released their Pz IV book yet. I have the Meng AFV Modeler subscription. What other references would you recommend top me? This will be a very long build and my lovely assistant, Kristi, and I are looking forward to starting it soon. Thank you for the help and have yourself a good day! Brian and Kristi

Hi all, I'm not big into Armour, don't know my tanks well so would like some advise and what you think to this idea. Firstly, I would like an R/C Tiger tank, on a budget, I know this does not bode well, but hear me out.... The R/C is not to go blasting everywhere but more as a novelty (it will sit in my display case most of the time), the Tiger has to look like a Tiger (so long as it looks OK, it does not have to be rivit correct), It HAS to be a Tiger, early or mid. King etc is no good, it's an Tiger early or mid or nothing. But most importantly I do not have an endless budget, less than £200 is my total budget. Soooo, my thoughts.... Purchase a Heng Long Pro Tiger 1 (with the metal tracks), more for sturdiness, then purchase a Taigen Tiger 1 upper hull. Add or rework any areas that I can, add a few scratch built bits Re-Spray the whole thing. Total purchase price will be in the order of... £109 for the Tiger £59.49 for the upper works. What are your thoughts? Can I make a decent looking Tiger out of this? As I say it is novelty factor for the R/c so it's not the biggest part of the project so the fact it is not scale speed etc is no matter, not that the gears clank etc etc.

Hi folks, I haven't seen anything about this here, but it appears from TamiyaBlog that a 1/16 scale RC type 10 was shown at Tamiya Fair this weekend: http://tamiyablog.com/2014/11/first-photos-from-tamiya-fair-2014-new-releases-and-events/ A previous entry suggests this will also be a static kit. Looks nice! Will

Hi folks, This was a build I did for my mother-in-law who always wanted a purple VW but never had the chance to own one... The kit was ok but I found the quality of some of the mouldings very poor. There was lots of repair work done to one of the doors (no pictures as I was not totally happy with it) and the fit of some of the key pieces was off but overall, a very fun project. First time trying to paint Gloss finish on a kit as well - Enjoy. And just a few pictures of the build: one of the many many coats of Purple used to build colour depth.
