  1. Hi guys, After much searching through the stash to decide what to build, it dawned on me that I have not built a German bomber since the late 1980's. That narrowed it down somewhat and I figured that the fairly recent Airfix kits look pretty good, with the Do17 coming out on top as I have never actually built one. Now looking forward to getting started! Cheers, Dave
  2. Hi guys, I am in with this old girl which I picked up off ebay in 2004, so it is definitely time she was built! It came with a Kitbits resin nose and an Eduard zoom set so hopefully they will add something. I have an Xtradecals Gulf War set (which I forgot to add to the pic) so it will be pink, but I haven't decided which one yet. I will also be delayed starting as work is ramping up for a few weeks and I still need to finish my Bf110 for the BoB GB. Dave
  3. Evening all, I am supposed to be staying away from GBs at the moment due to my workload and trying to finish incomplete builds, but as I need a release from all that I thought I would come and play. The Revell kit looks pretty good (with an obscene amount of flash in places) and as I am planning to build it straight out of the box, I am hoping it will be a pretty quick build. Cheers, Dave
  4. Hi guys, This has been in the stash for a long time so now seems a good time to get it built. I need to finish off a Mirage for the Dassault build first but should be able to crack on shortly. Dave
  5. Morning all, I promised my wife that I would concentrate on clearing the backlog this year and happily this falls into the GB category. I started work on the cockpit a few years ago and then stopped for some unknown reason. I also have an AM decal sheet for a Nimitz based machine to add a bit of variety. Hopefully it should be a decent build! Dave
  6. Hi guys, I was supposed to be having a break from GBs but as this one starts on the day of my 50th it would be rude not to! I believe this is a rebox of the Italeri kit (which I know has a few issues) snd is part of the Tiger scheme boxset with the RF-4F. I am not a fan of the special schemes so I have a Model Art decal sheet to represent a more line-orientated machine. Hopefully it will be reasonably straightforward but we will see! Dave
  7. Hi guys, I will be building this old girl and keeping it simple i.e. out of the box. Many thanks to rossm for kindly donating the decals! Cheers, Dave
  8. As the V Bombers GB did not get enough votes and the fact that both the Nimrod and Victor sport the same camo scheme (a flimsy reason I know!), I am going to build this old girl in this GB as she gave great service throughout the conflict. The decals provided cover both "Lusty Lindy" and Teasin Tina" so I will need to decide which one to go for. I will not be starting until I have completed my SU15 in the Interceptor GB which should be done in the next few days. I will now fully inspect the contents of the box with a lovely birthday beer! 😊
  9. Hi guys, I have dug this one from the depths of the stash (hence the battered box). I bought this when I was still in the RAF so it was pre 2005. I am not sure which scheme to do at the moment but I will be building it straight from the box to keep things simple. Dave
  10. Hi guys, I have so many potential entries for this it is ridiculous, but we will start with this one. I started it during the last Phantom GB to build alongside a Matchbox one but it stalled somewhat (often the case...). I am planning on finishing it in a standard 29 Sqn finish. Dave
  11. Only just remembered it's KUTA time again! I've had this lurking for probably 4-5 years, it saw a coat of primer about a year ago with the intention of being completed alongside the FGR2 I built at the same time - https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235063854-148-hasegawa-phantom-fgr2-xv474-t-for-tiger/ Basically a painting and decalling exercise (fingers crossed) - little bit more masking on this one with the black spine and hopefully I will use the correct shade for the inboard wing panels this time!
  12. Hi guys, since my shelf of doom has become ridiculous, it is definitely time to start whittling it down. I am in with my C-141 kit, which since my missus managed to get it whilst she was very ill during chemotherapy (to ensure I had a present for Christmas in 2015), I have no excuse not to complete it. My skills are mediocre at best so this will not be in any way perfect, but it should at least look like a Starlifter when I am finished. This is where I got to: Also, since this GB finishes on my birthday, it gives her a reason to buy me another kit 😜
