  1. Really nice build. Who's paint did you use. It came out very smooth
  2. Man that Cutting Edge tub looks awful fat. I know my Aires tub needed a fair amount of grinding to get the fuselage halves together. You may have a good bit to do yourself there buddy.
  3. That is one sweet looking gem of a kit. AND it includes underwing tanks. Nice.
  4. This is my first build of a 1/48 Hasegawa Starfighter. Here are most the add on parts I am incorporating. Its going to be in a Norm 72 paint scheme but I have not yet figured out which squadron. The Aires Martin Baker GQ-7 seats are brilliant but the PE belts were very difficult to work with, without flicking the paint off while bending them around the seats' contours. I added a few belts Aires left off with Tamiya tape strips. The face curtain loops were from a Has. F-14, and then decal stripes were added. The paint is all Model Master enamels. The right seat is for the front as it has the added canopy cutters on top.
  5. Here are some F-104D landing gear photos I took a few weeks ago at a local museum. The front gear doors were unevenly open and I saw the attaching rod on the right door was disconnected causing it to hang straight down. Hope someone finds these useful. Milt
  6. Man the canopy looks so off, as to look like it came from some other type of fighter. Make the best of it and wow us all. It should be fun. MP
  7. Great work so far. How is the fit and quality from your point of view? Did they nail all those complex angles down the side and more importantly for Trumpeter, did they get the canopy shape correct. That seems to be their Achille's heel.
  8. Dont write off the 1/32 Hasegawa Starfighter. Its also a great kit if you like to go crazy on easy to see detail. I finished this G model a year ago. The molds are dated but the fit is terrific and the shape is spot on. . I like the subdued raised detail much more than the way way overdone rivets on the 1/48 Hasegawa F-104. Aires AMS and Eduard come to the rescue with cockpit, burner can and wheel bays which really step up the kit. I left the raised lines and even added a few that were missing. The pilot is from long gone Reheat. Truely a blast to build. Milt
  9. Absolutely Stellar finish work and beautifully presented. Bravo!
  10. I too love the F-4F and a friend gave me all the XTRACOLOR needed for a norm 90j scheme. I will be watching your build here as it unfolds. Your doing a great job. It's gonna be awesome. Milt
  11. Looking pretty sharp Stewie. Cant wait to see it finished.
  12. You can safely use a single speed high speed rotary tool with a rheostat ( speed controller ) I have two dremel foot speed controllers. One for the rotary tool and one for my precision mini drill press. Their both over twenty years old now. What you can't do is use a rheostat on a variable speed Dremel. That indeed will burn the motor prematurely. If you use a Foot Speed Control with the variable-speed tool, it will burn out the switch on the variable-speed tools and two speed tools.
  13. I have the 1/32 A-7D and I am watching you go through this project hoping to learn the nuances of this kit from you. Your doing a fine job so far. Can't wait to see more.
  14. Man, that is gorgeous. I almost bought his kit a couple weeks ago but thought it too strange a subject to tackle. Now after seeing your terrific work I regret my decision. Nice work indeed.
  15. Man does that look hella cool. A simple presentation, but it gets the job done in spades. Very nicely done! Milt
  16. You really know how to make a long time modeller feel like a novice. Your weathering and corrosion control touch up painting is beyond perfect. You aligned everything correctly and above that your a hell of a photographer too. Beautiful Mig sir! Milt
  17. I have a small mountain of F-104s in 48th & 32nd. Might I join in here as I could use this as an perfect excuse to knock some of these Starfighters out. Milt
  18. I watched this thread from the in progress section. This is one of the most dynamic captures of an aircraft in flight I have ever seen in modeling. Your thought process for the complexity of this build I find amazing, because I also built this model and it is a complicated kit. You mastered it! Milt
  19. Wow! A perfect Gustov right from the box. Excellent finish.
  20. Looks really good. A solid quality build. And better than I have done with mine as its still in the box. One minor thing I noticed was that the Royal Air Force script of the sides is reversed. This may be how their printed from Airfix but the size of the font follows the size of the stripe on the planes. Good job and look forward to more of your Hawk in the inspection forum. MP
