  1. As some years have now passed, perhaps there is a conversion set available? or failing that anyone done a scratch conversion or a list of the differences?
  2. Ive just got the -800 and a -400 or series 1 would be great, perhaps it could include the TFE731 engines for the fan 400 as an option (and then I can fan my -600 !
  3. Harry - Thats understood, its a very niche market general Aviation, I was just hoping that it was a glitch and should be lower, but keep up the good work, suggestion - Beagle Pup?
  4. Looks a nice kit and I was on the VFR website only a short while ago thinking about the AA5 Tiger but can anyone enlighten me as to why its so much more expensive than the other kits (£36) compared to the Aerostar at £27?
  5. Just ordered the Argosy and Beverly and this will do nicely, now pushing my luck how about a Tudor and a Hermes? i was luck enough to fly in a Hastings, 1977 I think , and did air to air photo shoot with BoB Spitfire and Hurricane, Probably my second aviation high spot after first solo.
  6. Agree with Turbofan - Halfords appliance white is good, mix really well (shake if using straight from the can) and practice first, there probably vid on Youtube showing the best way. I have the Heller 1/125 Concorde in the post to me so am also interested in this thread.
  7. Thanks for the info guys but Im still wondering on those over large serials for the fuselage, i have only seen them on Lincolns and (I think) Hastings, although I may have imagined that. best I can guess is 60" but would love a confirmation somewhere.
  8. David - many thanks, most helpful.
  9. Trying to help a fellow modeler on a FB group, Can anyone tell me the size of the large white fuselage and underwing serials carried on the Lincoln in the grey/black scheme immediate post war, im guessing that they were 60" but confirmation of direction to an online resource would be great. Any help appreciated.
  10. Ok - yes the generic sheet marked Standard and Super VC10 with windows, doors etc says Roden but of course the B. Cal part is intended for a Standard, that bit I get but there is still something off either with the decals or the Corgi model (and I accept that Roden never intended it to be used on the Corgi model) I think the problem lies in a mis match of where the engin pylon is in relation to the cut out for them on the decals, when placing the cutout round the engines the decal hangs over the end of the aircraft for about the same as the gap in the cheat line. Its no biggie as thoughtfully Roden have provided some blocks of the Blue, gold and white from which I am making up the gap in the cheat line. The corgi model checks out in length but and the engine pylon placement looks ok (I dont have accurate drawings to be sure though) . Anyways, it will all come together and I have learnt to cut out and dry fit the cheatline in future. if Mr Charles is reading this, any chance of a BUA sheet?
  11. Yes it would apper to be a Super (as Hannants lists them) which then makes this even more odd as if the decals were correct then they would (should) be too long but also I wonder why 26decals would have supplied decals of British Caledonian for the Roden kit (which is a Super) and B cal never operated Supers?
  12. If anyone has a Roden standard VC10 could they let me know the length of the fuselage (not including the tail). I have some decals from 26decals which I am using on a Corgi 1/144 diecast VC10 and they are too short on the cheat line, so either they are wrong or the corgi is too long. Your help appreciated.
  13. I came across this old thread whilst looking to expand my stash of 1/100 kits. Iv'e long been a fan of this scale and in particular the Tamiya and Takara but also have a few old Frog 1/96 kits. Recently one of the issues I had with decals has been solved with the advance in "print your own" decals. Many of the kits I have are nearly 40 years old so the decals are at the least not the best and in many cases unusable. Also the choice has been less than thrilling. My first venture is a set of decals for the lightning F6 covering 111 , and 56 Sqn. They are still a "work in progress" but once done I plan to recreate the decals for the B52F as mine are shot. If anyone would like a copy of either or ones I do in future id be happy to forward if you can cover cost of the decal paper and postage (Im in France).
