Years ago I built a full scale terminator 2 pulse rifle and won an award for it at the Scottish ipms show

I use artists pastels for weathering. Rub them on some sand paper and apply the powder using a round tip paint paint brush.

I had the same experience with the film "hurt locker". I can describe it as American flag waving pish.

The tamiya as-20, is that paint in a spray can? If so then your friend might have problems bringing that back home for you as it's a prohibited item as the contents of the can are flammable.

well they're a little late nut here is some update shots. the upper and lower halves haven't been fixed in place yet but i have removed most of the masking tape from the fuselage so you can get a rough idea of how it looks, there are also some close up shots of the open bays:

Good old Tamiya flat black. Poured from the jar, thinned and sprayed on. About three coats as I recall. Hope this helps

What are you using scribe the panel lines with; I've found Revell thicker and harder than most others?

This is a Revell kit mate so it might just be an issue with plastic kits in general. Hope to post some assembled ship parts tomorrow

ok, i feel like i'm talking/typing to myself here but here goes: i'm starting to get the feeling that this kit will go on and on but now most of the painting has been done i can start adding detailing areas that i have previously airbrushed. as you can see i haven't added the "ball droid" however the upper section has been painted, detailed with sme extra PE and given a wash of raw umber. This has also been done on the cockpit bathtub which you are unable to see as the main part of canopy is still covered in masking tape. It was while i was adding the wash that i had an issue develop: the bathtub section of the cockpit folded in half, i can only conclude that there was a flaw in the plastic which was aggravated by the paint thinners used when i was using an oil wash on the cockpit section. it didnt completely break in half and i was able to salvage the situation using supper glue and a hasty repaint the next day. you will also be able to see a hint of the weather on the orange strip of the aircraft but as yet i still have to remove the masking tape here as well

where the hell do you store something that big, my missus would have a fit if i left it out on the coffee table lol
