  1. If anyone's wondering, this was a costcutting exercise under the Carter Administration to conduct trials with the pilots' baloney sandwiches in the AIM-9 instead of a warhead.

Although successful, the kill ratio suffered and the plan was shelved. Well done Phil for daring to model such an obscure subject.

    :doh::lol::lol::lol:

No, it will get armed next week with Sparrows and winders. :)

  2. Phil- would LOVE to be a watcher of your inaugural show- but I'm working 12 hour days this week and thats why I didn't pm you.

Hope it goes really well- just think- all those subscriptions x 2 million worldwide internet modellers- wow- you could be my new shagbuddy best mate - well apart from Mike of course

Cheers mate!, If we get 2 million I'll take you all to Disney land :analintruder:

It starts streaming at 8pm but you can watch the streaming download at any time after that for the next 7 days. See we're on demand too

What you get works like this:

Then there will be three more channels with tutorials.

Channel 2 is for beginners it has three screens showing/ basic tools and construction / airbrushing / Decaling

Channel 3 Is for more advanced people three screens again showing / Sanding and filling / advanced airbrushing / washes and weathering

Channel 4 is for after market parts again three screens showing / working with PE metals / Working with resins / TBA

Plus there is a small Q & A forum and other resources will be added as we go.

There will be a full step by step build on this one on the TV show. It's the last of the Photo ones, as all the new ones are videos with a running time of over an hour.

  4. Looking good Bex,

However from the title 'Phil's Weathering Virgin', I thought it was pictures of a nice pneumatic young blonde lady, in a diaphanous silk robe hand mixing his washes before applying it lovingly to his models.

Oh how I was disapointed! Mind you he is from Devon, and the definition of a Virgin there is someone who can run faster than her brothers

I'll have you knon, I was born in Somerset..................................... hold on I think that may be worse :banghead::tease:

  5. If you can hold on a few days, I have done a basic Airbrush video that explains the differences and how to set up and use a airbrush for the first time, changing colour and cleaning. Oh and removing a jammed needle. It's in the editing stage now. Also I've done a intermediate and advanced videos to each runs for 30 mins.

  6. Phil

I tried Tamiya thinners in xtracrylix in the week and while it made the paint less watery than when I thin it with water (well fancy that) it did seem to be stubborn coming out of the brush. I might try thinning it further as it was easier for a numpty like me to spray.

I also noticed it was less prone to staying on the plastic when Tamiya masking tape was applied.

Not a fan of xtracrylix, I tend to use Vellejo model air where I can. I found spraying it at around 20psi helps keep thing moving as at lesser pressures it clogs.

As for the Tamiya tape lifting, run the tape over the back of your hand before applying. It will take the bite out of the tape and make it less sticky and hopefully less lightly to take the paint with it when removing it.

  7. Looks great Phil! A question on Aires pits; I've got the H/gawa F-16 and resin pit and I take it that it's not exactly a drop-in fit for this particular kit? I seem to need to remove a fair bit of plastic and resin plus the Aires instructions are not the most helpful....

With most of the Aires pits there is a far amount of sanding, but if you take you time and test fit as you go, they fit very well and in my experience arn't as bad as people say.

    KKERRIISSTT!

This one slipped under the old radar!

Phil- I thought you were going to do the uglybug on the box lid- not that  Midway bird.

Can you tell us a little more about your telly thing please- I was sort of asleep and obviously missed it- areyou saying there can be no more people to sign up and watch cos it's full?

    Streaming..? Huh..

OK the Promodellers TV or (PMTV :analintruder: ) works like like this. Every Monday night there will be a 30 minute show that will have News, reviews, that weeks releases what's going on around the net, Interviews, tips and interview. There will also be four or five channels on the website with three screens each that will have video workshops from basic construction through to weathering.

There will be over 15 hours of videos to watch all for £2.50 a month this will help cover the video steaming costs.

If you register on the site it will give us an Idea of how mush we need for the Streaming. We will be putting up more details next week.
