Hi mat, ''did you paint inside the intakes before putting the wings on?'' No I didn't, I thought I would just blow them in when painting. Its a different ball game on such a small scale I have a Revell 1/32 here to so who Knows that might be up soon.

I've done a bit more to the hunter. It has gone together a dream with no filler. The fit is as good as Tamiya. I don't no what colour do it as I don't have any decals but what came in the box. The options the Central Flying establishment yellow spine and tail 1961, No 66 sqn, Royal Netherlands Air Force No324 sqn or the Belgian Air Force No 22 sqn. So have your say in which markings I use. On larger scales I use the needle on the revell contact glue

In an effort to do some more British aircraft instead of US. I picked up a little Hunter to have a go at. For those of you that know me I have always built 1/48 and 1/32 scale aircraft but after my accident I thought I would go back to the mother of modeling 1/72 scale. The last time I built in 1/72 there was only Airfix available not even Revell was about. I must say that in this word of large scale kits it's nice to see manufacturers putting investment into 1/72. We need more better kits in this scale to intice the younger modelers into the hobby. Lets face it a kid is not going to be imprest with a Airfix 1/72 scale Spitfire the way I was 27 years ago but if it went well together well and looked half desent they may be drawn into the hobby. OK steps of soap box. Well I've herd lots of good thing about this kit so I thought I would give it a go. Well I was very impressed with the cockpit and the seat but I had all ready bought a resin replacement. so hers the cockpit finished more to come.

To be honest it was two days, Started 1pm built, painted and futured. Then in the morning decaled and put together. varnished all dune before midday so it was done in under a 24 hour day. Also the kit is very simple and a good fit to boot.

Iv had these years. They bend to any shape. made by Hasegawa.

I'm between RNAS yeovilton and RAF ST mawgan. The Sea Harriers have gone and the Nimrods so no more days at the base. But on the Plus side I do get about 5 to 10 fast jet right over my every day in the summer. Mainly F-15E and Tornado's. Nothing gets me to the window faster than the sound of a jet doing 450+ knots at low level.

Oh I remember the days of standing at the end of the runway at RAF St mawgan when the Nimrods were there and the static coming off them before they crossed the road. ahhhh the flash and bang. Oh happy days.

The teens (F-14 f-15 etc) look good as two seaters, but A-10 and harriers look like after thoughts

Great work on such a small scale. My hat is off to you Nick, as I have tried to do WWI in 1/48 and still never finished one.

What scale cockpit?

I always give mine a wash of Taniya X-19 smoke thinned down, It's a gloss so you may need to spray a flat to tone it down a bit. That said I usually dry brush after so there is no need.

Hi mike, That how I got the idea for my wash, But I found that it dried gritty and some times It would stain the future. (I fund out the hard way on the bottom of a Phantom), I had to re spay the thing. Lovely wildcat
