  1. I'm back dating mine to a block 32 anyway. Just got to take the lumps and bumps off
  2. It's the standard F-16 colours of FS36118 gunship gray, FS36270 medium gray, FS36375 light compass gray
  3. I found the problem! It's the main gear/ rear engine and how it sits in the lower fuselage. Make sure it in properly as it sits a little high and that's why they don't match up. I put the front part on the intake in and glue it to the lower fuselage but not the two intake parts. when dry i put a drop of zap a gap on the two intake half's a put pressure on the front part of the join, held for a minute and it fit fine. you cant see it from the front at all.
  4. Just thought you might want to see Tamiya's 1/48 F-16. It is a lovely kit but not perfect buy a long way. Anyway here's a look at the 1/48 cockpit and then the 1/32. my main complaint is the pin marks an the positions that there in. The pin marks are quite deep and in very alquad positions like the undercarriage legs and gear doors. The problem at the moment is lining up the to intake parts.
  5. Super work Neil, a real beautiful model.
  6. Thanks for the sharing the pics, I must get out more.
  7. I don't think I will risk brushing future on. I can just imagine a Client coming back in five years time saying I paid you £*** and it's terned yellow
  8. Lovely Mustang , but I think it's more to do with the decals. I have always thought that if the future was to thick it would yellow, I know it dose on floors
  9. I did think of cutting the front of the Matchbox T.7 but it's a mater of time. I should have started the Tamiya F-16 today but i thought I would Finnish the MIG and the Hunter for a clean start tomorrow. That said you have got me thinking.
  10. OK decal time. Pretty straight forward but you do have to cut up the main gear door decal. Ending up like this . A coat of future and left over night. First thing this morning I put on the wash and left it to finish of the BMF MIG-21. Wash off, and ready for final assembly. All the bits on, unmasked and seat in. I will put more photos up later. Well I have to say this has to be the best 1/72 kit I've built and the Tumphy wyvern a close second. Thanks for looking and happy modeling
  11. From SKII's post ''I know what you mean about future over alclad. I had a near mirror finish on a starfighter, I was very happy and then I put a coat of future on so It ended up as a well worn starfighter. I wasn't picking just interested, From near mirror to flat in two minutes. So now I don't take the risk.
  12. OK I wasn't going to put this one on the site as is not British and I only just put one up. I have just finished this one using AlcadII. The reason for showing it is that me and Cop were having trouble with decals on alclad. Well after a few tests I have come to the following conclusion. Its bloody Airfix decals, The carrier film has a mat Finnish Theses are Academy decals and are very glossy and are hardly noticeable. So if you are using Alclad be careful what decals you use.
  13. Amazing photos peeps, I may be able to build a model in a weekend , but I can't take a photo of a moving aircraft for poo.
  14. You would think they would do a two seat variant. I have a 1/32 here, all I need is the Academy 1/48, do them in the same marking and it would a great size comparison.
  15. I can go one better, this is the PDF instructions from revell, http://www.revell.de/manual/04350.PDF If you still need a scan Neil, just shout. Thanks peeps its coming together a treat. ( thats is all commissions can wait ) Im going to build 120, 1/72 hunters and take over the world . Are there 120 different markings .
  16. Thanks guy, I would love to do a FA.2 in 1/24. It's just a case of finding the time, Perhaps I will take up model making as a hobby too.
  17. OK paint time I sprayed the silver underside X11 and left it to dry overnight. Next the yellow markings, I couldn't work out the best way to do it yellow first or after. Well I went for the yellow but I think it would have been better doing it after. Next a coat of Dark sea gray Then the green camouflage, all free hand. I have the idea that it would take longer to mask than it would to spray it. I also think free hand gives a warn out look Next is the yellow bands on the wings Then a bit of hand painting the nose and exhaust A coat of future and its ready for decaling.
  18. Oh, and this one I'm going mad, mad I tell you ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  19. It's a BF109G-10 Germany, early 1945. They are the kit decals from ST22 kit and a bit of imagination
