  1. It really depend what your spraying, but its about one minute at full flow to empty the tank. It doesnt have a shut off so I tend to leave My one running as I spay. I found one here that's cheap http://www.abcmodelsport.net/p345314/Ripma...h-Air-Tank.html I have never had a problem with overheating ether.
  2. OH yes, I have one. I have sprayed about 250 models with it. Cheap and very reliable and if it gets noisy and a slight knocking it's just the bearing. They only cost a fiver to replace.
  3. I must say that I'm very impressed with jay's sanding sponges. They did a great job on the centre seam on the canopy to.
  4. OK this is last update until the decals arrive. Decaled and washed the tanks and missiles. I decided to give it the wash before decaling the aircraft to save a bit of time later. So here's where I'm to as of now.
  5. my mistake sorry, but you are right it is a fantastic kit.
  6. Hi Sandy, welcome I see you like them big Nice work.
  7. The main reason is Tomcat pilots and Hornet pilots always had, shall we say had a healthy competition with each other. So when the Hornets found out that the tomcaters were going to be hornets the fun started. Well Tomcaters being Tomcaters said NO we are not Hornets were Rhinos we are heavyer and powerful than a Hornet. So the Hornet guys and now Rhino guys still have there healthy competition and so keeps the Fighter Attack guys at separate parties. The Navy will never admit it but there it is. As told by VFA-102 when I first spoke to then about a Super Hornet SORRY Rhino.
  8. You have no idea how hard it is for me not to weather it. But I have a couple on order with Bill, now that one will get the full works
  9. Bloody hell you do like em big Darius, Looking spot on love the upper wing flap nice detail.
  10. It's really starting to take shape know. It's a joy to witness
  11. Paint time. This is to be very light weathering so no pre-shading to be done. First the nose cone was gunship gray with a few drops of black, and masked off Second the light ghost gray FS36375 VAMA050 all over as well as all the hard points, tanks and missiles. Third the gunship gray FS36118 VAMA053 I like the Vallejo gunship gray as it has the blue hint in it. I then went back to light ghost gray for the area under the cockpit and with the aid of french curves gave me a smooth curve. Next is a coat of Future to seal the paint.
  12. Hi Drewe, I couldn't work out if it was a sniper pod or the nose wheel door closing. I came to conclusion it was a sniper pod because of it being so far forward.
  13. looking good there David, But where are you going to put the next five.
  14. Reminds me of the time a WWI plain was found in a barn (can't remember where) That was sold in a action. The new owner found it covered in hay and chickens But no one new it was there.
  15. This is where I have to hold back as the client doesn't want any weathering So no pre shading or panel toning on this one, she is just have a light sludge wash for the panel lines. This is the markings in question. As you can see this bird had just had a respray for the meet. So very little in the way of weathering.
  16. Well here's the Falcon in primer ready for painting tomorrow. Then it will have to wait for the decal (Bill answer your PM) But it will give me the chance to finish painting a SU-34.
  17. Being Italeri they all need a replacement cockpit and seat, It's the only thing that lets them down. After that it's up to you how far you go
  18. I give mine a wash and leave a bit of it behind, and I pic out dirty areas with some Tamiya X-19 smoke that's about it. http://www.britmodeler.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=655
  19. Phantoms, Phil loves Phantom I did the F-4E 3rd TFW, Clark AB, the Phillipines, 1982 last month in 1/48. The Japanese specials were as far as i know a very bark midnight blue, that looks black in the shade.
  20. Yep go for it Neil, Good subject ( show me a Phantom that's not ) and a fun kit to work with.
  21. Yes in a word. It is the same detail as the 1/32 and almost the same build. The same cockpit and seat as the 1/32 just scaled down The same fuselage and fin as the 1/32 just scaled down The only difference apart from scale is: leading edge flaps are fixed no detailed, removable engine no metal main gear no rubber tyres no interchangeable nozzles, it's fixed open so far I haven't used any filler apart from my own fault on the intake. It is a bit expansive compared with the Hasegawa but you don't need any extras to make a fantastic Falcon. It can be made out of the box. My only compliant is the pin marks are in tricky areas to get to and decal harnesses are OK on 1/72 but not in 1/48. I would get some PE replacements
