  1. I have only used tamiya gloss black on alcad. But I know how you feel remember out of every cock up comes a good idea Keep at it I'm sure every thing will come good in the end
  2. Just finished, there both up http://www.promodeller.com/workshop-videos/ I should get the weathering one done tomorrow
  3. Oh that's it, blame me Great work Karl, looks like the blue tack work a treat
  4. Just for you Give me an hour and I'll put it on the site.
  5. We had a few problems with the media player on the site, so I'm uploading it to youtube now.
  6. Cheers Mike, The F-16 I was looking at had a red lens in the middle and a light ring around it so I was trying to do that . Because I'm going to give this a heavy weathering job I need to start it lighter so that why I started with the Light ghost grey ,It will go darker with the weathering. As to the scoops and vents, I was surprised that when I said 'what's that do ' they said nothing I thought they would have removed them I'll get some pics up later.
  7. Right , paint time. I've videoed the hole thing, so I'll edit it tonight and see how it looks. Light ghost grey on the front and lower surfaces as well as the tail. Next it's on with the gunship grey. Then I went around lighting some of the panels. And darkening some of the panels on the lighter ghost grey. More soon.
  8. Thanks guys, should get the paint on today. Good point about the belts My airbrush is the H&S Evolution 2 in 1, with a 0.15 needle set.
  9. Next a look at the Tamiya seat. Then I washed out the wells to dirty thing up. I closed up the wells using the main doors a blue tack for the front. Mask up the canopies with tamiya and a sharp knife. Ive done a how to video which is on my site and I'll put it on hare later. I then went to work on the pre shading, strait onto the plastic with flat black.
  10. Early next year I'm doing a super detailed F-16 in 1/32, with all the panels open
  11. Having built all three main kits I would go for that one, that said the cockpit needs some work but an Aires one takes care of that. P.S If you find an Aires cockpit can you give me a shout as I'm after one or two!!!
  12. Right. Gear wells in and cockpit. I thought I would do the lights (Tamiya clears) Next it's time to take care of the intake. I've built four of these now and getting the intake to line up is always a problem, but I think I've got the hang of it now. By using a sanding stick I push the front part of the intake up. Then, using my thumb, push the rear part down, by pushing down and pulling the sanding stick up it lines everything up nice. If you have a look down the intake and are happy with it you can glue in place, I used super glue just on the top part that I pushed down with my thumb. A quick spray with some CA kicker locks it all in place, then I brushed on some tamiya extra thin to weld the whole thing in place. Next all the wings go on and tail, no problem anywhere. To make the spraying easier I removed the main gear door hinges so I could close the main gear doors Finished off the cockpit bit, found my resin seat won't fit, so I'll use the kit seat for now. Thanks
  13. Great job there David, The camo looks A1 It's OK the wash will last forever, and even if you left the lid off and it completely dried out, you just need to add warm water and it will work like new.
  14. Hi Paul, The wash works very well on figures and is proving something of a hit in the area, thou I've never tried it (I'm not very good at figures shhhh)
  15. I hear the Promodellers weathering wash is very good
  16. Sorry Mish I misted this one. A colourful falcon, works for me every time. I've got two on the go at the moment. the Dirty one and this one. Here It's the second time around for this one, as Twobobs got the sizing wrong last time.
  17. Don't, Don't, Don't, Don't, mention that thing, I've been asked three times to build another one just the same But I have declined every time. But I'll watch yours, take notes, then I give it a go. Then I ask you loads of questions. Perhaps I'll have a go on a large Lightning
