  1. I'm beginning to think the instructions are misleading. They have the ram joining above the door connecty bit (I believe that is the technical term...) whereas it is clearly below in reality. Oh well, maybe next time I'll get it right...
  2. Or, to put it another way... aaaaarrrrrggggghhhh. I'm building my second one of these and once more I can't get the hydraulic struts to fit 'right'. I don't know if I'm using the wrong hole in the uc leg or what, but I'm clearly doing something wrong...
  3. There's some grafitti inside the nimrod nose at East Fortune, something poll tax related I think but I couldn't get a proper view of it...
  4. Hi chaps. I'm getting through my Apache build and am getting a bit confused at the rear rotor. There's a somewhat vague arrow in the instructions suggesting filing something off pointing towards the shaft, but I can't work out what (if anything) I am meant to remove. I can thread all the bits together and fit them through the appropriate holes, but I am having trouble with the detail in the area to make sure I'm not doing something stupid...
  5. I'll just have to give the mixing a bash then... I suppose if I end up with a couple of subtly different shades on the model it'll give it some 'depth'
  6. Hi Chaps, my first foray into the world of Sci-Fi modellage. I have acquired a Revell Enterprise, and had a flick through the instructions and was somewhat dismayed to see that the main paint colour is one of their 'classic' mixtures (60% light grey, 30% white, 10% silver off the top of my head). I have yet to have any luck whatsoever with mixing one of these revell colours, and would be concerned with mixing the right amount and whether I could 'match' it if I ran out. So, is there 'single' colour reckoned to be the one? Or a way of layering to get the required effect? (paint it silver then grey over the top?) Not looking forward to it, I have a long history of unsatisfactory results with white and light grey... I'll be primering with tamiya light grey.
  7. I can't remember... I do remember it being a bit tail happy but it does sit on it's wheels...
  8. I have to agree, I was building a Sunderland and was missing half an aileron, boom, within a week, no questions asked. Smashing.
  9. Smashing, I'll have a dig and see what I have, although I can't promise the lightening, not having much luck with mixing paints....
  10. Hello all. I am currently building a 1:32 Tornado and have decided to go for the 617 Squadron option. I have mixed the colours as described in the instructions but what I believe is meant to be a light grey with a hint of blue has come out as a sort of very deep blue/black and the green has come out quite dark too. All the pictures I can find have a lightish gray and a medium/dark green (sorry for the poor description). Does anyone have any advice on the appropriate colours to use? I seem to have a wide array of grays in revell and humbrol acrylics and a few greens too and can't help but think I must be able to find a better match somewhere.
