  1. Great model! It isn't easy to obtain good looking dark finish, and even more hard - to weather it properly. Zegeye made it very well and I can confirm that the real model looks as good as the photos. Congratulations! G.
  2. Thank you! I see that the caption is copied from the Aircraft in Profile too! That's maybe not a proof, but a clue for sure! Thank you! G.
  3. Hi, is this Hurricane profile confirmed with photos/source data? I have seen this and similar profiles, but no other confirmations. Thank you in advance for help! Best! G.
  4. In December I started to watch this impressive build, but due to nasty flu I missed the finish. Today I catch-up. Great build, and super-cool result. Congratulations! We in Arma Hobby firmly hope that the Popham "7G" scheme is correct, even if we don't have a photo of this particular aeroplane in this particular moment. In general we rarely choose markings not 100% confirmed with photos, but this time we have made an exception - together with Wojciech Łuczak, known Polish aviation expert and great fan of the FAA we decided that Hugh Popham, who flew this plane, deserves such a tribute. What we have to confirm this scheme? A few photos of other HMS Indomitable Hurricanes, and a knowledge from other Britmodeller thread. This photo: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205144800 shows the Indomitable with Sea Hurricanes from both 800 Sq. (left, dark spinner, letter "M" on the fuselage and "6M" on the wing roots) and 880 Sq. (right, sky spinner, no marking on the wing roots) - and both of them have the yellow identification markings clearly visible. This photo: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205185912 shows the Indomitable Sea Hurricanes on the HMS Victorious after Indomitable was bombed. Markings are, as expected, similar: 800 Sq. "6G" with dark spinner and "6G" markings on the wing roots, and 880 Sq. "7E" with sky spinner, no "7E" on wing roots. Both planes have visible yellow wing leading edges, the fins are in shadow, hard to say if they are yellow or not. Additional info we have from @iang contribution to the recent discussion in general thread about Hurricanes. Ian confirmed that there is a photo of 880 Sq. "7Z" Hurricane with yellow fin, taken just after the Indomitable was bombed during "Pedestal". Ian also wrote that "The 880 Squadron Diary indicates that these Pedestal markings were applied to all fighters on August 8th:“All naval fighter aircraft taking part in Pedestal are painted as follows: A yellow strip along the leading edge of both wings. Tail fin painted yellow except for red, white and blue national mark.”" Summarising: it is true that there are many photos of Indomitable Sea Hurricanes without the yellow "Pedestal" markings, but these were taken before or in the early days of operation. Later, yellow markings were applied, which is confirmed with several photos and a written document. It is also true that the Sea Hurricanes from 880 Sq. had no letter markings on the wing roots. Best! G.
  5. So does the photo linked below show Indomitable planes on the Victorious? https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205185912 6G from 800 and 7E from 880? G.
  6. Thank you Troy and Ian for quick answers - despite the late time.
  7. Very interesting question. One other plane cames to mind (but may be completely irrelevant here?): https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205186140 It is from BCxxx series, has bombs, and is used by Naval personnel on Malta. Does any of these Sea Hurricanes have yellow fin and wing leading edges? Best! G.
  8. Well done. This is not the best kit, even in this old series there are finer ones (Gil, Bocian, Zefir, maybe even Sęp and Mucha - does it mean that all are better than Jantar?) - but the improved nose made it look really good! Congratulations!
  9. This one is Hamilton-cuffed P-51D from Polish 303 squadron. It was delivered to 303 in early April 1945, so still during the war. While some may call the Day Fighter camouflaged Mustangs boring, for me it is very cool!
  10. Interesting project! I can't help, but quite serious guy on the Polish forum is building one, you may check: https://modelwork.pl/topic/49169-w-schleswig-holstein-1935-trumpeter-1350/ Good luck!
  11. Homebee, thank you for forwarding these news! Tiny correction: the Hurry IId is still "future release" (we aim for very early January 2023) but the Sea Hurricane Ib is available for a few days already. You can order it here: https://www.armahobby.com/70061-sea-hurricane-mk-ib.html Or, for example, at Hannant's (where it is on the "top 20" list for two weeks and not many are left in stock!): https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AH70061 Best! Grzegorz
  12. Good luck! It isn't easy kit, but definitely a good one. And SPADs are soooo cool!
  13. It looks great! And I see a lot of stuff was improved!
  14. Good job! The whole undercarriage assembly may look a bit tricky - if someone feels unsafe with the arrangement, he can start work on it a bit earlier and use an unassembled firewall as a template (there are stubs for the undercarriage legs ends on the firewall).
  15. Thank you a lot for all this very useful help. Michał is very grateful, asked me to thank you! Here you can see other MAC carriers made by Michał (I know these are ships, but there are planes on their decks): http://modelarstwo.koszalin.pl/index.php/projekty/624-lotniskowce-eskortowe-mac-ships-1-700-ajm-models Michał is going forward with the kit design. Yesterday published more advanced renderings:
  16. Hi, my friend Michał from http://ajmmodels.pl/english/ is preparing a 1/700 model kit of the Empire MacColl aircraft carrier and is looking for info about marking of the Swordfishes operating from this ship. Anyone can help? I think that for 1/700 the serials won't be necessary, just bigger letters or colour markings (if any). Thanks in advance! G. Here are the first renderings of the model:
  17. Great find and an interesting topic! BTW, I wonder if the spinner colours are section markings, like the nose bands in No. 800 Squadron Sea Hurricanes? Best! G.
  18. Hi, there are two more photos of the Belgrade PZL 37 Łoś in this thread - very bottom: https://pwm.org.pl/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=82383&sid=ce123a30a3c2fa998dd921f9488d980d&start=540
