  1. That is a wonderful job you have done there. I remember walking through one of these at the Farnborough air show in about 1976, it was labelled the "5 star Tristar".
  2. Just Wow! and now further detailing?? Fabulous workmanship. Very well built.
  3. If these rascals are "sneaking through the channel" and maintaining the 12 mile limit from our shores as suggested, does that mean they have invaded French airspace by 4 miles? After all the Channel is only 20 miles wide at its narrowest point isn't it?
  4. The instruction booklet is available here but I don't think the timing belt has its own 'part number'? http://trendsuk.co.uk/sites/default/files/Haynes%20Manual%20B%2BW%20-%20small.pdf
  5. There are 2 other resin 757 kits available as well as the Authentic Airliners kit, one by PAS (Russian, I believe) and also the old Leoman resin kit of an Eastern Airlines 757.
  6. Yeap they sure are noisy, I am to young to remember these aircraft, but would of loved to see them start the one up at Brooklands Did you see the video of the aircraft arriving at Brooklands? Interesting
  7. I bet its great fun at roundabouts, does it bend in the middle?
  8. I am sure those nice people at Boeing will gladly sell you a 777-200ER for $261, 500,000 (just dont tell them what you want it for). But I can't see them handing over the keys without a sizable deposit or at least the first lease payment. If terrorists have taken it I can't see them having that sort of cash. http://www.boeing.com/boeing/commercial/prices/
  9. Have you seen the new livery for MSN002? All we need now is some decals? http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/pictures-third-a350-shows-off-composite-livery-394500/
  10. Wow, that looks OK to me too, in fact it looks fabulous.
  11. The original Accurate Miniatures instructions are available here. They give you a write up as well as similar vague diagrams. http://web.archive.org/web/20071021130347/http://www.accurate-miniatures.com/instructions/TBM-3D_0121.pdf Hope that helps.
  12. Hi Steve, I have a very poor sketch of the Apron fitted to the Mk4 seat in the Strikemaster training notes that I have, Its not very detailed but it does show the strap positions. I'll mail you a scan of the appropriate page. Regards, Neil.
  13. I too see the Beluga fleet very often and they do fly at weekend. I usually get one over my house every Saturday. There is one now on Flightradar 24 en route from Broughton to Finkenwerder, Hamburg. They show up on FR24 with a call sign beginning with BGA (BGA421 on FR24 now). They do make a different sound from the usual procession of Ryanscare and SleasyJet aircraft on their way to visit John Lennon. It is a more high pitched whine so I can understand it scaring dogs, small children and persons of a nervous disposition. So it is just as ugly when you can't see it.
  14. Completely off topic but for all those members seemingly perplexed by the dimensional proportions of a piece of string, those helpful people at the BBC's Horizon have produced this documentary that explains everything... or not? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvjGz6gY1N0 Hope that helps. Dan.
  15. I can recommend Adblock to prevent this type of thing happening. Its free and works very well. Dan.
  16. Steve, Glad the photo's were of some use to you. You are correct about the outflow valve, it is the light grey thingy fitted on shelf between the seats. I have scoured the engineers training notes for the Strikemaster but can't find a decent sketch of it sadly. As for that avionics tray, I have only seen it fitted on JP's but never Strikemasters, it usually has a black box fitted but its purpose escapes me. It is installed on civvy JP's so why the a/c in the video has no box installed is a mystery. I have dug up a couple more pics I will forward on to you. The canopy can be jettisoned manually by pulling on the yellow and black 'D' shaped handle fitted to the rear of the center pedestal or by the initiation of the ejection sequence when either of the usual seat pan or overhead ejection handles are pulled. I have only seen one a/c fitted with MDC and that was the 'crazy spaghetti' type in the crown of the canopy. Incidentally the aforementioned 'roll over hoop' is actually the 'canopy jettison guide' Neil.
  17. The "odd shaped flag thingy" is actually a rack for an avionics box of some sort, the box is missing and the rack is mounted vertically on its back if that makes sense. It is visible in the video referenced below. The plate with the lightening holes is the structure to support the rack that is mounted on the roll over hoop just above the pressurisation outflow valve. The deck area behind the seats is usually the same on the JP5 and the Strikemaster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wynffv6qHo8 HTH Dan.
  18. There is a video and a few pics of these contraptions here, though they are not Chevy's as requested:- http://towconnections.yuku.com/reply/53473/Re-Towing-Float-Plane-Truck-Thingamajiggers#.UhDUFNJDmSo HTH Dan.
  19. I have worked quite a lot on the civilianised JP5's and can confirm the centre windscreen frame is internal and supports the standby compass and the framing for the G meter. Hope that helps? Regards, Dan.
  20. One feature often overlooked on the whole DH Dominie/HS125/BAe125/Hawker product line is the main landing gear which has the outboard main wheel on each side offset further forwards than the inboard wheel. This was to keep the dimensions of the main gear assemblies as narrow as possible and allowed side by side axles and subsequent anti-skid hardwear. This restricted the amount of space taken up in the cabin for the main gear bays. The feature is subtle but visible in these pics. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Moseley-Group/Hawker-Siddeley-HS-125-1B/2059469/L/&sid=65322178651d5952ee5a3871ce635c78 http://www.airliners.net/photo/Raytheon-Hawker-800XP/2275620/L/&sid=4249060800b3e896d85eb0f976c02298 Dan.
  21. Really is sad, I remember when Chester had 3 model shops! One in the Forum indoor market and the other great one was in Boughton. It went downhill when the "downstairs model shop" (Arts and Crafts) moved to the rows and became the "upstairs model shop" before becoming Modelzone. Was in there today to see if any airbrush compressors were included in the sale, sadly they had all been had at half price, drat.
  22. I would think it was much earlier than the 60's, didn't the Douglas Dauntless have red painted dive brakes during WWII?
