  1. Hi Chris, You're spoiling us today! I love the Trident and am working on a couple of AA examples and I must say with your modifications it's hard to tell the difference! Can't wait for the Red Square one! Cheers, Ian
  2. Hi Chris, Well I have to agree with everyone else that is superb! The weathering is great, as well as the use of the Welsh engines which make all the difference. It is a really nice kit to build, one of my favourites. Lovely livery too! Cheers, Ian
  3. Hi Berk, Wow, what a gorgeous A319! Absolutely flawlessly finished and great subtle weathering. Of course, the Authentic Airliners windows really bring it to life. I have to agree with Sini, PE pitots would be the 'icing on the cake' though. Beautiful photography too and I like that in the head-on shot it looks like fans are turning! Looking forward to seeing more in the near future! Cheers, Ian
  4. You're welcome Mike! I'm glad they fit! Cheers, Ian
  5. Hi Neil, Nice looking 727 you've got there! Wonderful classic 70s/80s livery too. I seem to remember flying on one Rome to Heathrow in 1984 when the A300 we should have flown in developed a fault with the nose gear. I missed one a few weeks ago. I heard an unusual plane fly over fairly low and when I checked on Flightradar24 noticed it was the Oil Response 727 flying over just above the low clouds, bummer! I think it's based at Doncaster. Cheers, Ian
  6. Hi Mike, Great job masking the coroguard on the wings it's quite fiddly on the A320 family. With regard to the winglet decals, I would either paint white or apply over a white decal otherwise the colours in the laser decal might come out too dark. The engines appear to be the same white as the fuselage but the pylons are definitely Airbus grey and I think it would be noticeable if they were painted white. Don't forget as there are overwing exits there needs to be overwing escape markings which I don't think are included on the Nazca decal sheet. https://www.airteamimages.com/pics/367/367718_800.jpg I can send you some screen printed ones if you like as I've got stacks of spares. Looking good and as you say on the home stretch! Cheers, Ian
  7. Hi Alex, Welcome to the wonderful world of airliner modelling! It's a shame about the cockpit windscreen decal as it is the only thing ruining such a well finished model. Could you cut it along one of the frames and realign it? I think it has been designed for a different kit so therefore doesn't match the angles of your kit. I have lots of Boeing narrow body cockpit decals I can send you if let me know your address. Cheers, Ian
  8. Looks like you're in luck Eric! https://www.f-dcal.fr/decals/index.php?id_product=429&controller=product&id_lang=1 Cheers, Ian
  9. Hi Matt, I think a Sharpie would be too thick. Something like this might be more accurate. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STA-Fine-Liner-Pen-Pigment-Marker-Waterproof-Black-Ink-0-05mm-0-8mm-Brush/192740843550?var=492882450987&hash=item2ce03fe01e:g:bxoAAOSws99b~rqL&redirect=mobile Cheers, Ian
  10. Hi Alex, Great result! So nice to see the Aerolineas Argentinas livery not one we see very often, you need a strip of white decal for the Argentinian flag by the way! Nicely weathered too. Having built the Authentic Airliners kit recently I can't see any differences shapewise and at nearly half the price the EE looks to be the one to go for although it's still way overpriced!! I've always thought of the Braniff 747-100 as the 'Big Orange' and the 747SP as 'Orange Squash' but maybe it's just me!! Looking forward to your Braniff machine in RFI. I'm considering an SAA SP when it's available. Cheers, Ian
  11. Hi Steve, It's not difficult to convert a-300 to a -200 as far as I can make out it's just a case of shortening the fuselage. I'm not aware of any injection moulded -200s in 1/144 Hasegawa did one in 1/200 though. Authentic Airliners do a 1/144 -200. With regards to the engines, ANZ used mainly GE CF6's but also a few P&W powered aircraft. The Zvezda kit has the better CF6 engines the Revell are more of a P&W/GE hybrid. If you need to find out which engines an aircraft used check out www.airfleets.net Here's the link to the ANZ 767 page https://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/Air New Zealand-history-b767.htm You have to click on each registration individually for the engine type though. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ian
  12. Hi Martijn, Really quite marvellous! Superb weathering as is standard on all your models as is the photography! Was this the livery you flew on? I didn't realise it was around in 1998, time flies I guess. I have a Zvezda 767 in the stash but have heard the engines are slightly undersized, although they look fine on your model, what is your opinion on this? All the best for a safe arrival in April, modelling time might be a little curtailed for a while though! I gave up for years after my two arrived. I tried for a bit but someone would always wake up and need feeding just as I had slid a large and complicated decal off the backing paper!! Cheers, Ian
  13. Hi, If you do find you need to sand the top of the fuselage if you stick, with double sided tape, some wet and dry to the inside of a piece of half tube which is a similar radius as the fuselage you shouldn't get any flat spots. You'll lose any aerials etc. but these can be replaced easily enough later on with thin styrene. Hope this makes sense and helps out! Cheers, Ian
  14. Hi Alex, Great 737's! We don't see many Heller 737s on RFI so something of a novelty. Good choice of liveries Luxair is definitely one on my list as I remember them well at Heathrow in the late 70's and early 80's and I do like the RAM livery too, again another from my spotting days although I remember 727s were more frequent visitors. I wonder if Heller are ever going to rerelease any of their 1/125 airliners. Cheers, Ian
  15. Hi Neil, Love it! Which colour did you use for the tail? Also which silver did you use it looks nice and bright!? Does the kit still come with steps? Cheers, Ian
  16. Hi Lazy8, Yes the BA charter subsidiary. Thanks, yes some of my ref pics do show a blue that looks like late B.Cal blue which is what confused me. The yellow pinstripe and lion are decals so I don't have any control with those. I'm planning on using Revell 371 for the Landor grey but I'll possibly mix something for the blue. Cheers, Ian
  17. Hi everyone, Just wondering if Caledonian Airways used the same blue as BA did for their Landor livery? It would make sense but I thought I'd check. My reference pics vary wildly from very dark, almost black, to quite a bright blue. Cheers, Ian
  18. Hi Matt, Part of the problem might be that the decal paper is very thick compared to standard printer paper that might be why it has smeared. Does your printer have a 'heavy' or 'card' option? I think you can put inkjet paper in a laser printer but not vice versa but I might be wrong on that. The colours look good though! Cheers, Ian
  19. Hi Julian, Just found these on the web if they're any use? https://www.airhistory.net/photo/300698/D2-THA https://aviation-safety.net/photo/292/Lockheed-L-100-20-Hercules-D2-THA Cheers, Ian
  20. Hi Martijn, Thank you! Yes all is well here but my modelling output has slowed due to not having as much time as I used to. Glad you're back modelling hope you have a new dedicated modelling room in your new house! Next year we are extending the house so I should have a room to myself rather than the corner of the dining room, can't wait! It's been busy with airliners here recently which is good. I'm glad you like my recent 747sp I'm thinking about redoing the pics of it as I'm not too happy with them. It was too sunny and there are reflections of the window on the baseboard. Cheers, Ian
  21. Hi Martijn, That's ace! Love the detail on the wings. Been following your build over on the Dutch modellers site so it's good to see it finished so soon, quite a quick build! Good job AA came out with their silk screened decal as the original laser decal you were going to use would've been tricky to wrap around the tiny tail! I often see these here at MAN and have thought about building the BPK kit sometime. Looking forward to your 767, which KLM livery will it be in? Are you going to build an American Eagle one? Cheers, Ian Ps really impressed with your new bases!
  22. Hi John, Damn! That's another on my list you've beaten me to! I love it! That BMA livery was just so classy and looked particularly good on the Viscount and DC9s. I like the Fly kit I think they got the nose spot on but it's a pity about the thick wings. Did you manage to thin yours out, I've thought about using Airfix wings instead. As for the engine pylon issue it isn't particularly obvious IMO. Great 'with something else' pic, are there going to be any more in your BMA fleet? Cheers, Ian
  23. Hi Dan, That's a super ATR you've got there! I've not heard good things about the Italeri kit but yours looks great. Would be interesting to compare it with the F-RSIN Plastic kit. Any more airliners in the pipeline? Cheers, Ian
  24. Hi Ray, Lovely job you've done on this, now you need to buy another one for the British Eagle decals! I'm sure your masking skills are up to it! With a photocopy of the decal it's not too difficult to mask what you need. Love the props they really make the model stand out. Rest assured this is not a tricky build it really is a great kit! Cheers, Ian
  25. Hi Dennis, No need to spend any time researching Boeing Grey, Halfords Racking Grey is a perfect match. Myself and many other airliner modellers use it. Holts HL01 I believe is an alternative but I have never used it myself. Hope this helps! Cheers, Ian
