My father landed with his Firefly on Nan Red/Juno beach D-Day +2, he was due to land on Sword but there was no space so the landing craft was shifted right onto Juno ............ The build will be a representation of him coming up the beach after leaving the landing craft....I hope..................... Smudge

  18. Welcome one and all to the Britmodeller 70th Anniversary of D-Day Group Build.... We are using the guidlines for the 65th GB as I think they are short and sweet and give all the criteria required....And hope the hosts for that build do not mind them being used again, thanks. The guidlines The Build will start at 00.01 on the 6th June 2014 and end at 23.59 5th October 2014....... The time frame will be June 1st 1944 to August 20th 1944...... If it flew, drove, ran or floated in that time frame and was in the theatre then its in, and of course you can have any combination of these........ Part builds to the normal 25% completion (host discretion, GB mods have final say in any dispute)....... As a guideline all allied aircraft must have invasion stripes unless you can show evidence that none was carried........ All vehicles, ships and aircraft must have unit marking that were in the theatre in the time frame........ Although we have quite a large timframe covering most of the battle of Normandy. We would like to encourage entries that conform to the spirit of the GB and are as near in time to D-Day as possible....... All builds are to have a thread showing progress. If you are building two or more almost identical models, they may be combined in the same thread....... There are to be no adds for buying, selling or trading within the build....... Your hosts for the GB are Arniec and Swordfish Fairey ..... A great big thanks to Ultimate Modelling Products for their sponsorship of this Group Build And finally.......The biggest rule of all..............ENJOY IT! Smudge (Swordfish Fairey)

  20. Just as K says, decide what you would like to do, buy the kit and start a build thread, post pictures of the finished model.....The main rules are that it must start and finish on the dates allocated and must have taken part in the campaign.........Any problems can be sorted by the members on BM, just ask..........You would be more than welcome to join wimbledon99 Kwaterous.....I'm sure B-25J's took part in the invasion, so yes............... Smudge
