Leave her with the two-pylon fit now you’ve done that! The new Airfix Hunter is due soon-ish; you can do the “We’re all going on an APC” fit on that one.
Sounds like a plan coming together.
Only 3hrs to plug, strip and paint just gotta get rid of that last blemish.😫

Personally for an F.6 of that period I'd go for 100 gallon tanks inboard and empty outer pylons.
Blow me I've just stripped the paint (just the required panels) and plugged the holes, doomed if you do doomed if you don;t.

Thanks for all the replies.
Would it be fair to say that the 1960 aircraft would be around in the mid sixties by the time that Mod. 1257 would/could have been installed and Hunters were being phased into a more all round role? If so that would allow me to carry out the initial intention i.e. inner small fuel tanks outer matra. I could also just have fuel tanks and no outer ordnance by blanking the holes (don't really want to as paint is on and went ok) or having empty pylon. What other load outs would be correct for the outer pylon? Also was there ever a twelve barreled Matra pod?

I'm building the Academy f6 Hunter and am doing the 56 Squadron 1960 option. I was going to have a small fuel tank on the inner pylon and what I thought were Matra type 155 rocket launcher pods on the outers, are these pods accurate? Would this load out be correct? I can find little reference to a twelve barrel pod at all.
Thanks in advance.

The point I m trying to make is unlike other manufacturers Tamiya's standards from kit to kit dont change. You get the same quality be it in their brand new F-14 or a kit released in 2005.
Unless they've done a bit of reboxing 😨 but even then they often improve/add to things, odds on to our benefit.

Hi Dave French RP's are different from the RAF one's
The heller french jaguar comes with only one tank, but to me the french drop tanks look like the mirage F-1 ones.
Cheers,
Joseph
That's what I concluded, I just need to find a source of one any ideas?

According to my googling the French tank is different from the RAF ones (chunkier, blunt nose as well as the wings) although I could easily be totally wrong and would be glad to be as it would save some aggro.

Thanks boys I'll blank the holes and leave them off.

I'm doing the Kitty Hawk Jaguar and wish to know whether to fit the chaff/flare dispensers underneath towards the rear. The instructions do not show them being fitted as a stage but later show them on so are not really useful, box art shows none painting guide has them fitted and googling is frustratingly inconclusive. Can anyone tell me the answer?

That is big and bl##dy beautiful I absolutely love it.
F.M. Halifax Bolton Paul rear turret transparency with scratchbuilt internal gubbins for the Quickboost B.P. Defiant .303 machine guns. Any details on this part of the build?

This is the same paint as the Badger ones that i use!
You can clean it with ipa or anything else with alcolhol in it!!
And it is preferred to use a large nozzle like a 0,5 but i had great results with a 0,3 and simply thin it with water if needed.
I also used Vallejo flow improver and can be used as well ...
Cheers, Jan
I use the this aswell and agree with everything in this statement except cleaning, for me if it has gone off in the slightest then cellulose thinners is necessary to shift it.
I also find it brushes well both wetter or as a semi dry brush technique.
Best primer I've use.

Truly a beautiful and striking model. It's looks are very Captain Scarlet to my eye, Harmony Angel would kick bottom in that baby.

I don't know the definitive answer but if the rotor blades did become longer with the newer blades, wouldn't the airframe have to have a plug put in it to seperate the rotor masts?
I would agree with Scimitar and Dave, the blade cord increased with alterations at the root of the blade.
Probably no help at all, sorry.
Everythings a help Wafu, if I can conclude that 'no one knows better' then I can move on with my build.
I personally think length would only marginally be altered, if at all, and any mod, excepting the root taper, would be subtle to make the most of, probably, computer aided aerodynamic improvements.

The only place I've found anything approaching a diagram is on a picture of some resin blades made by Heritage Aviation Models, roughly scaling off that seem to suggest a chord to length ratio of 1 to 10 this is the same as the kits mouldings and accepting correctness in their work (debatable allways) would suggest introduction of a root taper would suffice.
What do you gents think?

Thanks for those Scimitar, unfortunately they don't have the info I'm after.
What I'm after is either a diagram or set of measurements which would allow me to attempt a mod on the kits rotors, everywhere says the rotors were changed but I can see nothing with dimension changes.

Hi,
I'm building the Italeri 1/48 Chinook at the moment and was wondering if anyone has the dimensions for the later type rotor blades so i can have a go at modifying the kit ones, a drawing would be nice as well.
All the best Dave.

I've just had a look at the MK1 web site and they do a wooden deck for POW but no complete upgrade set, at least as far I can see, so that recommendation is no good, sorry.

I've just finished a Tamiya KGV in 1/350 using the WEM set and I wasn't that impressed.
Int he future I have Academies Warspite to do for which I have a set by MK1 Designs this looks head and shoulders better than the WEM set but of course I haven't buit it yet, it's also cheaper thant he Pontos one though I think not so complete/overkill I would certainly consider a set by MK1 designs.

I spent hours as a young trainee architect water colouring drawings. Despite the expense only
sable brushes were used.
I remember doing this for public display at road scheme meetings, good days hours of filling road and verge up trying to leave no joins.
