As a former groundcrew member on the german MiG-29A/G (MiG-29.12) I can say: the weaponscomputer on the MiG-29A/G is divided in two sections. The two inboard wingstations and the four outboard wingstations. On the four outboard stations you could only carry the two ir-guided types R-60 or R-73. But you never could mix it. On the two inner stations you could hang on the radar-guided R-27 or one of the two ir-guided types. This means you can carry and fire: 1. six R-60 or six R-73. 2. two R-60 inboard and four R-73 outboard or two R-73 inboard and four R-60 outboard 3. two R-27 inboard and four R-73 outboard 4. two R-27 inboard and four R-60 outboard You never could carry and fire all three types of missiles at one time. You also could never carry the R-27 on the outboard stations because the wings have there no attachment points for the long APU-470 launchrails. The launchrails for the R-60 and R-73 have the same distances on the attatchment points and are interchangeable on all six stations. That are my two cents.

Taylor Durbon replied to RAGATIGER's topic in Aircraft Modern
Reskit has a wide Range of french weapons on offer . Nice detailed gems. -
There are a lot of beautifull kits of the cold war aera out there. The wonderfull MiG-21 Series from eduard. The Special Hobby Mirage F.1 and Super Mystere Kits. The stunning F-106 from Meng. The really nice MiG-17 from AIRFIX, esspecially in the new boxing with East German Airforces markings. The Mirage III from Modelsvit is an absolutely gem. So many Kits to build....

Followed your buildthreat on master194. Have enjoyed every step. Really nice work! -
Where did you get those informations about the different mods? Beside that: really cool work!

I‘m voting für the PFU with those giant missiles.

Never heard about Mavericks in Vietnam. If so, it will be very difficult to find out which plane from which unit had it fired. Standoff weapons in Vietnam were AGM-62 Walleye and the Bullpup B and C, Shrike and Standard ARM.

Ok, you ask for comments, here they come: At first, I really, really enjoy your buildthread. Especially your solution of the instrumentpanelcoaming is absolutely stunning! Your silverfinish looks really nice and beautiful flawless. BUT ( I know, every word in a sentence before a but has no worth), the Lightning has some very distinctive shaded panels in its naturemetalfinish. The intakering, for exsample, is one of these and you nailed it. The other panels, which you chose, are absolutely wrong. You can check this easely in every reference. Maybe I had post this earlyer. Anyway, thats my comment. Beside this, I hope my Sword Lightning T4/5 will come out like yours. Sincerely, Taylor from Germany- 693 replies
