  10. I didn't mention this one as I recall that VS wrote that the numbers sold were half of those of Fw 190s. Still considerable, but a larger expense (in terms of investment in tooling) for smaller profit than in the case of WW2 single-engined props. And there are still some popular subjects not tackled properly in 1/32 scale, Hurricanes, Spitfire Mk.I-V and P-51B/C being the first that come to my mind...
  11. Yes, but in this case the box title says Mk.I.
  12. In the real world, most peeps go and buy another Bf 109, Fw 190, Spitfire or Mustang. Ask Eduard
  13. Exito Decals is proud to announce the release of two news sets available both in 1/48 and 1/72 scale. The ninth decal set in the range is entitled “Lightning Strike” and includes markings for three P-38s: - P-38G-13-LO, s/n 43-2204, ‘Beautiful Lass’, flown by Lt. John G. ‘Jump’ O’Neill of 9th FS / 49th FG, Dobodura, New Guinea, late October 1943. - P-38F-1-LO, s/n 41-7578, ‘Marjorie Ann’, possibly flown by Maj. Richard Ira ‘Dick’ Bong during his war bond tours, USA, late summer 1944. - P-38G-15-LO, s/n 43-2475, ‘Babe’, as flown by Lt. Edgar L. Yarberry of 48th FS / 14th FG, El Bathan, Tunisia, second half of June 1943, and as flown by Lt. George P. Brown of 96th FS / 82nd FG, Italy, autumn 1943. The two P-38Gs feature sexy nose art, whilst the P-38F sports a rather unusual finish. ‘Babe’ and ‘Marjorie Ann’ have never been reproduced in decal form before, whilst our depiction of ‘Beautiful Lass’ is a result of a careful study of the available photo material and differs from all previous interpretations. Decals include bonus markings carried by ‘Babe’ during its later service with the 82nd FG. Illustrations were created by Andrzej Sadlo. This set is available directly from the manufacturer: - in 1/48 scale: https://exito.site/en_GB/p/EXITO-DECALS-ED48009-148-Lightning-Strike/55322 - in 1/72 scale: https://exito.site/en_GB/p/EXITO-DECALS-ED72009-172-Lightning-Strike/55323 1/48 sheet: 1/72 sheet: The 10th decal set is entitled “Eastern Front Fighters” and covers three different Messerschmitts flown by notable Luftwaffe aces in the East: - Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-7, ‘White 2’, flown by Lt. Heinrich Ehrler of 4./JG 5, Alakurtti, Finland, late April 1942. - Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-4 trop, WNr. 10266, flown by Maj. Gordon Gollob, Kommodore of JG 77, Oktoberfeld, Crimea, Soviet Union, between June 2 and 6, 1942. - Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6, ‘White 10’, flown by Oblt. Robert ‘Bazi’ Weiß, Kapitän of 10./JG 54, northern sector of the Eastern front, USSR, January 1944. The markings for Ehrler’s ‘Emil’ and G-6 of ‘Bazi’ Weiß have never been reproduced in decal form before, whilst Gollob’s Bf 109 F-4 trop did not receive enough attention from other manufacturers. To our knowledge, this is the first decal set on the market that contains the 4./JG 5 emblem (including a bonus one). Illustrations were created by Janusz Swiatlon and Anders Hjortsberg. This set is available directly from the manufacturer: - in 1/48 scale: https://exito.site/en_GB/p/EXITO-DECALS-ED48010-148-Eastern-Front-Fighters/55324 - in 1/72 scale: https://exito.site/en_GB/p/EXITO-DECALS-ED72010-172-Eastern-Front-Fighters/55325 1/48 sheet: 1/72 sheet: As previously, the decal sheets are printed by industry leader, Cartograf of Italy, which ensures top printing quality and ease of application. These are complemented by instructions that differ from the plain market standard. What you get are essentially high quality posters with accurate and inspiring illustrations. Each subject is presented on an A4-sized sheet, with large side aircraft profiles printed on the front, and the remaining artwork, reference photos and all necessary information laid out on the rear side. This way you not only get some cool decals for your model kit, but also attractive posters to adorn your man cave, at the same time! 14. People at HK took a fair decision of getting more use from already existing sprues, especially facing the previous positive reaction of the community for a similar kit idea from WnW (although the HK Lancaster story was so long that in fact I am not sure if it wasn't actually HK who came with this idea first). As for using internet forums as the reference for subject choices, I'd be rather cautious, considering that I'm aware of quite a number of examples when doing this ended badly for the manufacturers. KittyHawk, for instance, could say something about this...
  15. Uncle Joe was a Mk.III. And this isn't the last Nose Art Kit from HK. Just sayin'
  16. Sorry, but I think you all understand the circumstances. Speaking about Ju 52, I don't think it's anywhere near completion, and a number of HK contributors, including this one, did not recommend this particular subject. But the final decision belongs to Neil.
  17. Not sure where Mr. Haggo took this from, but 01E033 is not a Ju 52.
  18. So there's something weird going here, because the pic in "P-51 Mustang Nose Art Gallery", p.72, shows 5 flags and an empty rectanle, but there's no sign of 'My Achin!' Nevertheless, Eduard's marking option represents the aircraft as flown by Gruici, as on this photo: https://iwojimamodelscom.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/img_0113-e1585845488108.jpg?w=1024
  19. Judging from the photos known to me, it was the opposite: first Gruici, afterwards Crim. In Crim's period of use, the girl disappeared from the fuselage side, and later the same happened to 'My Achin!' inscription and possibly also the donkey (see the photo in "P-51 Mustang Nose Art Gallery", p.72). BTW, an overview of dedicated accessories for Eduard's Mustangs: https://www.kfs-miniatures.com/1-48-p-51d-mustang-eduard-waloryzacje/
  20. I can tell you that: a) as mentioned before, this release is in 1/32 scale. 1/48 ones have different catalogue numbers b) no suggestion mentioned in this thread so far is correct. Try more
  21. It would have a different catalogue number, starting with 01F... - 01E... numbers belong to 1/32 scale kits. AFAIK, there are no works on B-29 or B-26 at HK Models.
