  1. As far as the production of the Autoblinda Lince is concerned, the Regio Esercito never got hold of any production models, as the original order for 300 vehicles was issued in Summer 1943 and remained on hold because of the new political situation (fall of Mussolini and the Armistice). Their production was cleared by the new German authorities on 1 October 1943. The final production number is still unclear though, as a German paper dated 27 February 1945 declares that 104 were produced in 1944 and all delivered. We know however that the official Lancia story speaks of 122 chassis manufactured in 1944 and a final number of 250. Regarding the colour scheme, the so-called amoeba is in Italy used also for tank but would be probably most appropriate to define some Regia Aeronautica schemes, is one of the two most frequent schemes on late war Italian AFVs manufactured and impounded by the Germans. One is characterised by large blotches of dark greed and dark red divided by a reticle in light sand colour that separates the two previous colours, the second, always with the same three colours, show more rounded dark red blotches on a dark green basecoat, even in this case bordered with light sand. The Lifecolor set while not perfect gives reasonably accurate colours, I have not the slightest idea about the Ammo by Mig Italian colours set as I never tested it. If you are interested in the subject I might also post some info about the colours of the interiors of this vehicle.
  2. You will excuse me if I am still a skeptic about this possibility. Most of the pictures obtained from the web show dark olive green vehicles, and the sand coloured ones are most likely heavily weathered standard Soviet green, as the pictures show invariably abandoned vehicles or in various stages of decay.
  3. I'd really like to see them as this colour was not included in post-war Soviet Army arsenals. All export tanks included the T-55 seized by SouthAfricans and turned to Rhodesia were in the usual Medium Olive Green that we associate with post-war Soviet AFVs and softskins.
  4. Hello everybody, I am modeller, a Brailler indeed, mostly building AFV and the occasional aircraft, plus some 1:350 vessels. I greatly prefer WW2 subjects, especially Allied, and I am quite conversant with Soviet tanks that I have been studying for several years. In the last year or so, I have developed a keen interest for British subjects, at present I am modelling a Sherman Firefly Vc (Dragon) and a Cromwell (Revell) of the Guards Armoured Division. I consider historical and technical research as an essential part of modelling, whilst on the other hand I tend to look with suspicion at the huge amount of modelling products that are flooding the market nowadays. Perhaps a reflex of the fact that I started many years ago with Britfix cement and some Humbrol tinlets. I have always admired the British slant of this website as a refreshing change from the current professional modelmaking that is at now common on the web. Thanks everybody for your attention, see you soon. Vincenzo Valentini
  5. In the past lockdown months I built a few Cold War Soviet tanks, mostly heavy tanks prototypes and I used the new Gunze Lacquer Mr Color G-512. Green 4BO (1947).
  6. Hello everybody, this is my first post here so perhaps I should introduce myself. I am an AFV modeller from Italy working almost exclusively in small scale. During the years I have gathered quite a large number of kits including also several now discontinued Matchbox and Fujimi. I most definitely have a Matchbox SdKfz 232, and I am reasonably sure that I might still have also the Panther and the Stuart/Honey (certainly I have it as the Revell set with Highlander infantry). If you are interested I might check further if I have more Matchbox kits, I certainly have LRDG set, Monty's Caravan, M19 Diamond tank trasporter, the SdKfz 234 and more. As I am currently modelling exclusively in 1/72 scale, these models are now redundant and I am more than willing to part from them.
