  1. Hi Giampiero The main wheels in the ESCI/ ITALERI Mirage III kits all of them are the Mirage IIIC-B main wheels so can not be used on the Mirage IIIE-R-RD-V-D you have to change them to make a E version on the ESCI-ITALERI kit any way so no good on the Kinetic kit. Look at the Brakes this is the main diffrence. Paul
  2. Hi The Tanks in the kit are not for the Mirage III a/c they are the RP30 1700 tanks and Pylons for the Mirage 2000 and are from the Kinetic 2000 D/N kits in fact the hole sprue is from the 2000 mirage kit. This is why there is a fit problem and the fins and pylons are wrong for the Mirage III a/c a lot of work is need to make them ok for the Mirage III. The tanks are not also fitted square on to the wing they were angled outward so that the do not touch the u/c doors and they have a 2° Nose down angle. I have a Mirage IIIEA on the go at this time aim using the tanks from the Esci - Italeri the later boxing of the Mirage III kit in place of the Kit ones. Hope this helps. Paul
  3. Hi Sorry can not see the photo work vir thingy stops this. The Italeri's Mirage IIIE is a version of Mirage IIIEA you just do not put the doppeler under the nose, there are a few other small things that they used. See my Mirage IIIEA build in the Falklands Group Build. You do not need to convert any thing are you getting confused with the Dagger that they had which is based on the IIICJ if so then you use the IIIC kit as the starting point like they did in when they did them. Paul

  5. Hi A bit more of a update i have been plodding along doing this kit so far got a lot done well for me a lot in the time. The 1st bit This is the wings parts the kit comes with hardly any if any Anhedral mind most of their Mirage kits have none so I put some in. I cut 2 slots in the wings along the line of the u/c bay see the small black bits of plastic card that i inserted i use 20 thou card I also cut slots in the 2 bars that are at the wing joint line i did not fill them it just makes it easier to bend the wing the small bit that's needed. A lot of sanding is needed to get the wing upper and lower parts to mate up without a big step at the leading edge joint. The tail both sides a bit of filling needed as parts are not the best fit. i have cleaned it up a bit more since. This nose section was not such a good fit took a lot of lining and cleaning up to get this far, still a bit more to do this is part E4 that is used for the a/c aim doing. The wing joint takes some time to do this i started at the very rear only sticking a small section then going to the front section getting this bit sorted then the middle sections one side at a time. I took a long time to get this as lined up as much as i could, the intake section is not stuck at this point as did them later. The intake section partly together, more cleaning up to get ok, a lot of work need to get this to fit. The under side tail section this was the section i did 1st got to clean up this section still. Top view one side is glued in place still got the other wing to do. I shall fill the gap at the wing to fuselage joint with card cut to shape. I have drilled the top wing lights out. Coming along will post more when i get time. Quite enjoying it still a long way to go. See Ya Paul Paul
  6. Hi I made a start last Monday so here is the update on how far i have got. I have made up the cockpit just the basic i will add detail later. the intakes are made up and fitted to the Fuselage sides i have improved the intake support’s. The kits parts at lest they put some in there most of the kits have missed this. My update i used 0.60mm slide fit brass tube the kit rods are 1.2mm so to me well over size. The real thing. I have now got the Fuselage sides together i fitted the nose cone to each side as i have found that you can get a big step at the joint if you do it the way they say it's a lot better this way. Parts ready to be joined. Parts now together. I have taken the TACAN antenna off the front of the tail as they did not have this fitted. This is the panel at the rear just above the jet pipe, just got to trim it and add the screw heads its a great way to hide the joint at the rear this is how it is on the real a/c. The nose section just a small gap to fill and add detail the cockpit. I shall not fit part C39 a antenna to spine top panel as they did not have this fitted. That how far i have got to now quite fast for me and as this is my only kit i shall be making i hope i shall beat my many ducks and finish this group build. I have got some parts coming to me for the load so will show you when they get to me in a few days time. That's all for now. Paul
  7. Hi This will be my build I have stared the build on Monday but have just got around to doing this the 1st bit. I shall do A/C I-014 or I-016 as i have photos of them at the time they are from the 2nd batch of Mirage IIIEA so they can have the Magic 1 and Matra 530EM with the 1700lt Tanks for CAP duties over the Islands. All this started on my birthday back in 1982 i was 24 and in the RAF god how time has flown, and this was about the time i started making Mirages a lot and still at it 40 years later still going strong if the stash in the loft of unmade kits is anything to go by. I will post more later if i get around to it . Paul
  8. Hi Patrice I think i might have a go at this one. I have just finished being the main person along with Mark setting up and putting on and running the big display at IPMS (UK) SMW 2021 this year i.e. Mirage 60 years of service. there was 60ft of space to fill and sort out. A little Miraged out just now giving them a rest till the new year, i still have a few to build. I think it’s also the Mirage F1 50th year of service and the Mirage 2000 40th year of service also in 2023 which aim looking to put on a smaller display at SMW 2023 on the French Air forces sig stand that year. So put me down for this one. Paul
  9. Hi Also the leading edge of the wing is different i.e., it has the extra fuel tanks in the leading edge all RDs had this and later E,s the R and early E,s was the early wing with no tanks. Sorry i can not see the table above work compt not letting me open the file ref colours i mix my own shades normaly using Humbrol. Paul
  10. Hi I have made a small start. Main hull started and main gun also need more cleaning up to do. Aim trying to put the anti-slip surfacing that is on the real thing using an Ali foil more work to get it right. Will do the running gear next, you can fit this later then fit the side panels. This will be a slow build I think as other things to do and yes they are French so not of topic. Till next time Paul
  11. Hi I have 4 of these on the go just now i have some updates i do to them as the kit is not quite right nothing hard to do just correcting the kit in a small way that's if you wish. Paul
  12. Hi I had no plan of doing this GB but French subjects are my main thing so i had a look to see what i had that would be a a good simple build and this jumped out. I shall start this in a few days time, it will be all most out of the box just a few things to make it better. I do not have much on the Leclerc only the small amount that i have found on the web. I got the Kit in France at the Hyeres show cost me 5 euros. Till later Paul
  13. Hi Mark Email me can help, just got a new book today on the Mirage IIIc, the EM 37 Editions one and i have others on it. Paul
  14. Hi A bit more done got the main painting started just to do the diffrent silvers. It took a bit of time but not to bad finish all from rattel cans. I shall get a bit more done this w/e. See Ya Paul
  15. Hi A bit more done. AirBrakes fitted and sanded flat and nose fitted. Most of the rubbing down is done. Nice shape from this view. Seats done only a quick paint job and a faceblind handle fitted and a spash of black paint inside as you can not see much when the canopy is closed. Missed a few photos along the way forgot. Just adding the last bit, then close it up. Closed up just a small gap at the front filled with clearfix. As she is just now, done a small it on it 1st thing today, hope to get more done soon just got to undercoat it. The other bits for it are in the tub behind most just ready for paint again for got to take photos. Till next time. Paul
  16. Hi More done to the Mirage in the last few days. I have started on the wings i glued the lower section on 1st after i scored the elevons at the rear and cut a small wedge shape in the arms to allow them to drop a bit i then bent them down went to far on one side and it snaped off. I then glued it to the fuselarge let it set I then got the top wing parts and scored the same as the lower did not snap these of this time. I found i needed some card to help get the top wing to sit ok if not it just sat to low the big bit is 60thou and the long bit 10thou this allowed me to fix the wing at the fuselarge side 1st glued it and let it set then i glued the wing edges and just held togeather till set. The wings on not to bad took my time, airbrakes i will add later. As it is now time to start the sanding the wings and the other bits then the nose next. I might get some more done this week we shall see as other Mirages that need doing. See Ya Paul
  17. Hi Kinetic kit Mirage IIIE/5 kit number K48052 it has 3 lots of markings for them this is the kit i plan on doing got it the other week sat next to me right now. Hope this helps. Paul
  18. Hi Martin I can send you some cockpit info on the 174, i can not put it on BM as its not my copyright ie photocopys of the 174 manual i have some bits of it for when i get round to doing the 48th kit i have got. I will try to scan it this w/e and email you the jpegs. Paul
  19. Hi A bit more done i have sanded the raised lines of the fuselarge and put the nose togeather. The nose cone i have put some foil into it to give a silver backing to the lights. I filled the nose with some Clearfix that was on its last legs it makes a good backing for the foil. How it looks just need to wait till it sets to trim the foil and any over spill. I have run some superglue along the seams that need a bit more filling as only fine filling needed, will let it go hard then sand it. This is as far as i have got, next up the wings then pop the nose on and sand it all till i get the finish i wish as it is going to be silver need to get this right as it shows all the mistakes up. I keep forgetting to take photos, i now have my internet sorted at home so that helps do not have to wait till work at lunch time to do things like up load photos and post them like before so we shall see how i get on. There is a lot of builds it takes ages to look at them all, so till next time. See ya Paul

  21. My Other builds Heller 2000N REVELL 32nd Mirage IIIE Kinetic Mirage 2000-5 All going to be in French markings plus 6 more 2000's on the go. Paul
  22. Hi I started this on Sunday and did a hour 1st thing before i went to work. 42 side as the parts come in the kit 43 side as corrected by me both now corrected I started on the intakes i normally do this on Mirages, the kit is nearly right not like some kits all i have done is thinned down the surports from 1.12mm dia to 0.80mm as they are a bit big faster than replacing with rod i then added the centre bit thats missing and thinned down the flat bits of parts 42- 43 as they are quite thick then cleaned up the insides of the intake outer parts and thinned down the intake fronts. I then put the cockpit togeather I have add a strip of card to the top seam and some lead to keep the nose down. This is as far as i have got to now, need to clean up the seams now. Not doing much to the cockpit as you can not see much, next up is sort the wings. Not working on this all the time just a few times a week other builds on the go. Till the next time Paul
  23. Hi Nice. Some of the later Heller boxings had the Airfix kit inside i think it is the one with the a/c flying inverted on the box top that is the Airfix one and the Heller plastic is the one the a/c flying normal. You can tell also by the plastic inside if its the Heller one. Not seen the Revell kit nice to know as will now look out for this kit knowing its the Heller one and not the old Matchbox one more to add to the list. I have a few boxings so will have a look to see. Paul
  24. Nice most of the 24th car kits are on my to get list, got a few just now need the shows to get going again to get some. Paul
