  1. Shaun, Most changes such as this one have to be "trialled" before being intoduced operationally. Trials invariably use dual-seat versions of the aircraft; one pilot on NVG and the other pilot without, just to make sure, whilst taking things a step at a time. The electroluminescent EL formation lights give off a very bright light-blue colour when lit at night. The IR strips in the lights on your T10/T12 birds are a significant improvement in perceiving the other aircraft while using NVG equipment. The NVG operations in the JFH resulted in a number "lighting" changes to ensure compatibilty with the NVG equipment. The other NVG trial results that were commonly seen on the JFH aircraft at the end of service were the removal of the red beacon lights and the port navigation light, which "flare" the NVG image to the user, making it unusable for a brief time. The beacons were replaced with green or white lenses, the port navigation light was given a green lens. It's been a while since I flew night formation and at times it wasn't easy, before you add NVG to the equation! Dragonfly

  3. Gents, Count me in for the 1:32 Harrier parts; I'll need all of them. Just a point of clarification; Here a link to a Public Domain photograph of JFH aircraft over Afghanistan in Decmber 2008. The photo is High-Resolution, so you may zoom as necessary. http://dams.defenseimagery.mil/defenselink...ink_preview.jsp Have alook at the 100% LERX. It gives the distinct impression of the additional panel not being parrallel to the airflow on the inboard edge. It also indicates the extent of the panel around the the exhaust port (APU) Does anyone have information or other photos to confirm this?? Dragonfly
