  1. Fantastic work, especially on that tiny scale!
  2. she is looking amazing, loving the weathering, very inspiring!
  3. You're hard work is paying off, she's looking great!
  4. Thank you all for you responses and positivity, I really appreciate it! I'll get the black work done next, decal her up and see what we're looking like. More soon, thanks again! Val
  5. If you're airbrushing then I too have not found anything better than Tamiya. I like to brush paint with Vallejo Model Color (not Model Air), but I've not brush painted an entire model in years. HTH Val
  6. Cheers guys! Christer, I went for the orange putty again I've corrected the camo and repaired damaged paintwork where applicable. Stage 1: I then decided to do quite a bit of post shading, for a few reasons. Firstly, I've been scanning for pictures of Dambuster Lancs, and although these pics are usually black and white and it's hard to tell what is what, they do appear more weathered than I first thought. Secondly, a lot of the weathering is around the engine areas on top of the wings and this is to add depth to the exhaust staining. And finally because it just looked a bit one dimensional and a bit boring. Now, it looks like I might have gone a bit over the top (it looks worse on screen then it does in real life to be honest), and the rule for weathering is if you think you've gone too far, you probably have! I'm going to leave it for a couple of days for it all to settle in and go off before deciding if I should knock it back a bit. I like it, but probably will. Although I might wait until I've got the black work done to get a better impression. In my (limited) experience, the shading never looks as strong after it's had a wash and a flat coat. We'll see. Cheers, Val
  7. The camo is nearly finished. The first step was to mask off the brown. Good ol' Science Putty was used. Dark Green applied: And unmaksed: As you can probably see from the pictures, the camo needs tidying up a bit in places and also correcting here and there. I did lighten the green in places again as with the brown but only slightly. However, I've been looking at pictures of Dambuster birds and they do appear that they got a bit more weathered than I originally thought, so might do a bit more post shading here and there; restrained though. I'll try to correct the camo tonight, then I can look at masking the blackwork off in the next day or two. Val
  8. Wow, incredible work on the internals, amazing work!
  9. Expert work on the corrections, I'll be watching this with a lot of interest. Great start
  10. She looks great, mate! Hope mine comes out half as good as yours! I've not attempted to correct the dihedral either. I figured I'd create more problems than solutions! I don't think it's that bad either. I've got a pic on my work desktop background and you can barely notice the dihedral. Then you see other pictures when it's pronounced.
  11. Indeed. I'm doing the Revell Dambuster Lanc atm. It's generally very, very good, but I had a heck of a fight with the engines!!
  12. Best of luck Richie! Lakenheath is only 45mins or so down the road from me and they often train over my town. Noisy little devils! I too have this kit and intend to do a Lakenheath bird. I also suffer from all the same issues as you do! Have fun Val
  13. New Airfix is a strange one. Their kits are generally excellent imo, but it does seem a bit of a lottery how they go together. I've struggled like heck with some kits others say have fallen together (not ruling out me being the problem to be fair), but I've also made other kits of theirs which have literally fallen together, no filler at all, which others have really struggled with. Really can't explain it!
  14. I'm with you about decals, that bit drags for me too! She's looking good though
