  1. Please, please let it be a 1/48 F.8!!!!!
  2. Couldn't agree more! I've no interest whatsoever in prototypes/'one offs'/'what ifs', and know no other modellers who have either.
  3. If the rumour's true, and the kit is as good as their Delfin and Magister, I'll take a half dozen!
  4. Fair point, but surely it would be better to have 100% of the profit from a kit unique to your brand than x% of the sales of a kit subject that all of your competitors' ranges include too?
  5. Sorry Eduard, great big YAWN from me on this one.....the world already has more than enough 1/48 Fw 190s for this modeller's lifetime. Something different now required, please! How about an accurate, current standard 1/48 Meteor or Vampire 'family'?
  6. Curses be upon FCM Decals, now I'll have to buy at least two.....the bank manager will not be happy!
  7. Couldn't agree more, there are hundreds of far more interesting subjects still waiting for a good, current-standard kit, just look at any thread of the 'why don't they do' variety. If it's your thing, enjoy it, but I won't be buying any - reckon the market for it will be very limited.
  8. As far as I'm aware, the only way to get AMK kits at the moment is direct from on-line/mail order retailers in the Far East. That's how I got my Kfir and L-29 anyway.....
  9. Personally, if both a IIIE and a IIIC were available in 1/32 (and assuming both were to a comparable standard) I wouldn't bother at all with the 'C' but could see myself buying three or four 'Es'.....for no reason other than that there are far more attractive colour schemes for the latter. If the IIIS/RS were added to the equation, I'd need to have a serious chat with the bank manager - the sky would be the limit!
  10. I know, but for me it's firmly in the 'life's too short' category, I wouldn't have the skill, patience or time to make an even half-decent model from it!
  11. IIIC in Israeli camo or French AF natural metal, versus IIIE in a broad range of schemes from air forces worldwide - no contest in my view, IIIE wins hands down every time! Still, each to their own, but I know where my money will be going, to the 1/32 Kinetic IIIE that I gather has just been announced.....
  12. While any new 1/32 Mirage III is welcome, I wish I could understand why kit manufacturers are apparently fixated on the least widely-used variant, the IIIC, rather than the much more widely-exported IIIE 'family'. To me, that would be the logical choice, as it lends itself to much more interesting colour schemes..... Maybe if the IIIC sells well, we might eventually get a 1/32 IIIE (though we had to wait literally decades for Kinetic to oblige in 1/48 after Eduard inexplicably also started - and finished - with the IIIC).
  13. Just wondering if anyone can help with a query re. the above. Master have recently released two sets of rocket projectiles in 1/24 which seem ideal for the big Airfix Typhoon. However, one of the sets is described as being suitable for the 'early' type of rail and the other for the 'late' type. Can anyone tell me which rail 'type' is depicted in the Airfix kit? Thanks in advance.....
  14. No argument on the 'only so many Spitfires' sentiment, but there are so many other things that Kittyhawk could do than this.....
  15. I'm sure both of the people who buy it will be delighted with it..... What a waste of time, money and plastic!
  16. Most of the photos in the third link also show an 'empty' seat, but the apparently ‘padded’ seat visible in photo 29 I’m afraid I can’t explain – perhaps the example photographed is a privately-owned ‘warbird’ rather than an ‘in-service’ aircraft? The book published a couple of years ago by Joe Maxwell/Radu Brinzan (‘Fouga Magister, An Irish Perspective’), which is an excellent reference on the type, contains a photograph showing a Fouga pilot wearing a parachute about to board the aircraft; from this it can readily be seen that the seat couldn’t possibly also have a cushion. (Unless perhaps the pilot was of very short stature and needed it to see over the instrument panel!!??) I’ve seen both Irish Air Corps and Luftwaffe examples of the Fouga Magister, and in all cases the seat fitted was of the type illustrated in the above links (i.e., with a padded back and an empty seat pan to accommodate the pilot’s/trainee’s parachutes). Recent reviews/builds of the Wingman boxing of the Kinetic kit would also suggest that this seat type was standard for the Fouga, see: http://www.hyperscale.com/2014/reviews/kits/wingman48008reviewme_1.htm http://www.hyperscale.com/2014/galleries/magister48ts1.htm http://originalundmodell.de/modelle/fougas.htm
  17. Looks nice, and I'll definitely buy one, but why can't anyone get the Magister seat right? It didn't have a 'seat cushion', just an empty 'pan' for a seat parachute, same as the Spitfire.....
  18. 'featured in the new AMW Phantom booklet released this week' Can anyone point me to a link to this? I'd like to get a copy but can't find anything using 'Google'.....
  19. As far as I know, the exhausts on F-14As when at rest could be either open or closed. While it would not be unusual to see one open and one closed, both open would also be a common configuration.
  20. Received the following from Mike at Belcher Bits, for anyone else interested: "Peter, Yes, its available at $32.99 plus postage. I can send you a Paypal invoice if you tell me where you live so I can calculate postage. Mike" No green Merlin for me, I'll do a yellow Cormorant instead!
